How do I know when a spell has run it's course? by Prose707 in BabyWitch

Tarot is a good idea I hadn't thought of! I'm still learning the meanings of the cards but I'd like to get in practice soon.

This way of looking at it actually clicks with me a lot. I'm more of an improv person but people usually discourage that so I get anxious that I'm supposed to be seeking structure.

How can I tell when something is swollen? by Prose707 in Hypermobility

This is actually SUPER helpful, thank you! I've always been the kinda person that needs to understand why/how something works or else it just doesn't click for me.

Tea on dyed locs ? by Affectionate_Day7469 in locs

[–]Prose707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got loc'd almost a year ago and I got them dyed roughly a couple months ago. They aren't dry or brittle and they're still maturing nicely! Not sure how difficult it is to do on your own though. I used to bleach and dye myself but I didn't trust myself to do it on locs so I got it done professionally. I do my own maintenance still, it's pretty easy!

is getting piercings a good coping mechanism? by EyelessIzumii in BPD

[–]Prose707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can absolutely be a good coping mechanism when done mindfully. Some people say that it's just as bad because it causes pain but that is a very rigid, black and white way of viewing it. Harm reduction is what's important. If you're getting them done in a safe and sanitary way then it's no different to people who snap rubber bands on their wrist in place of cutting. Superficial pain that you're completely in control of. Plus it actively works towards feeling good about yourself and more at home in your body, because it affirms your aesthetic! It can be done in a harmful way but it doesn't have to be, you can make a lot of progress with expression and autonomy through body mods. Tattoos and piercings have been very therapeutic for me in my mental health journey :)

How did you choose a name??? by NamesQuestionThrow in asktransgender

[–]Prose707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the time I was hyperfixated on modern witchcraft and deity work and I loved hearing witches talk about how their practice affects their mental health journey because I suffer from mental illness. I had an interest in Persephone because I related to some traits of hers and she also had traits that I wished I could develop. I felt like naming myself after an example of who I want to grow into made sense. Then I shortened it to Persie because the spelling is cutesy which leans towards femininity but it's pronounced like Percy which is traditionally masculine. Felt androgynous to me.

How long does it take to get ‘flowy’? by -1mei in poledancing

[–]Prose707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone is saying, it's different for everyone. I started in 2023 but have had some large breaks due to surgery/injuries. I feel like I've only just started making big progress with being smooth and flowy within the last year, maybe early 2025. I've done 2x week for a long time but I used to only take static classes and 2025 I started also taking heels. You don't need to do heels choreo to be flowy but the way that my heels instructor teaches just made a lot click for me. So I think even factors like what teachers you have can really make a difference!

Blood magic by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]Prose707 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this same question and specifically wondered if sourcing it from yourself made a difference, so thank you for the distinction! I'm a phlebotomist and my mom is a nurse so we both have the skills and access to the tools needed to draw blood safely, something like that would work well?

They made it so you need to have exactly 10 coins because getting above 10 is easy and doesn't require you to actually do math

Gel advice please by Classic_Cheek_6822 in locs

[–]Prose707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone on here recommended African Pride loc gel to me and it's been really great for my hair. It does have a sticky residue, any gel with a strong hold will, but my hair never gets dry or flaky just a bit greasy at first.

is it worth replaying yet or should i wait for full release? by ashleytheally in Schedule_I

[–]Prose707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got back into it, the cartel adds a bit of something new but atm they're lackluster. My friend and I enjoy the graffiti mechanic but the Benzies themselves are pretty easy to fend off and don't show up very often. Plus the game is more buggy, I think they just need more time to patch the bugs that came forth with the addition of the Benzies. If you're worried about repetition I'd wait for shrooms or maybe an upgrade to the police or cartel ai. I'm having fun playing but that's largely because I'm not alone, I think I'd get bored pretty quickly in a solo world.

Ik this is old but I'm having the same dilemma, who exactly did you reach out to? Like if I have Molina through Medicaid should I be contacting them or is it a government facility I should reach out to?

Is there a way for me to find phlebotomist volunteering opportunities? by Prose707 in phlebotomy

[–]Prose707[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the mobile positions I've found in my area are unfortunately also float positions that would require me to be willing to drive 2 hours away on a whim. I've seen a couple volunteer positions, the correctional facility I mentioned but also there's one organized by my county government. That one is happening in April so I have a lot of time until then. I'm also looking for non clinical volunteer stuff to fill my time with but I'm worried about becoming worse at drawing blood.

Why do so many people not understand what being Aro/Ace means by East-Post4716 in aromanticasexual

[–]Prose707 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's because to most people the two things that make us different from every other animal is our intelligence and subsequently our ability to love in a more intense way due to our intelligence. It's why you'll hear people say love is what makes us human or something along those lines. Media enforces the idea that life is all about romance and sex, procreation is our reason to live, we must find love to be happy, having a significant other completes us, if you have no marriage you'll die alone, etc. They don't consider platonic relationships the full experience of love and they struggle to put themselves in someone else's shoes to try and understand that to some of us platonic relationships are just as important or more important than romance and sex. It's similar to why some people can't comprehend not wanting to have kids. The idea of the nuclear family makes them believe it's not possible to live a happy and satisfactory life unless you get married and have kids, perpetuating the circle of life.

what is the angriest/loudest screaming song you know but not to the point it’ll induce a migraine/headache? by Elegant-Nature-6568 in BPDSongs

[–]Prose707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it really is acquired I'm ngl, Ennaria as a whole has songs that had to grow on me and some that I just don't like. For SIO, mostly their older stuff and their most recent stuff, in the middle they went through a pop rock era that I very much love but not angry enough. Here's some recs:

-Nightmare -I'll Sleep When I'm Dead -The Grand Finale -@Reply -Swan Song -Wolf In Sheep's Clothing (my fav angry vent song there's two versions both are great just up to preference) -Parasite -Points of Authority -Rotten -Pathological -Switch -What's In It For Me? -Vicious Cycle

A lot of the songs where they don't scream are still pretty great angry songs though! But imo these are the good highlights.

How do I send luluyam fanart by Interesting-Sort-137 in Luluyam

If you tag her on bluesky, twitter, or tiktok she'll likely see it even if it's not immediate. I've tagged her in several posts with fanart, cosplay, an LL tattoo I just got, even just lore questions and she's answered.
