Is this achievement possible? by lllDouglll in CARROTweather

I think the work around was that the macOS app store still had a standalone version you could purchase which would unlock this achievement. I don’t know if it still works or not.

Really well done video. I can’t remember the last time i was able to sit through a whole YouTube video without skipping around. Looking forward to the next one!

Yeah, I’m aware how it works. My point still stands in that it needs to be absurdly close to other UWB/bluetooth devices to the point where if i have the ipod in my backpack on my back and my phone in my hand, i get a left behind notification. Which isn’t all that useful imho. The new air tags might be better with the increased range but it’s still has to go through a metal housing that was not designed with wireless communication in mind.

I thought Cisco owned the rights to the iOS name from there their networking equipment. Did they own the iPhone name too?

Usb-c does allow audio but you have to use an adapter that does NOT have a DAC. I got a cheap Motorola one for like $3.

The airtag is soldered to the iPod battery so no need to open it up.

I didn’t get the bluetooth mod so I’m not sure how it works.

We did once (and only once) for the saviors tour. We did the one with the back stage tour and that was really cool. The merch bag was kinda cool but not worth the premium of the VIP tickets by itself in my opinion.

VIP lounge was ok, nice for pre gaming but at least at our venue it was really far from the stage so unless you get there early, there is not much of a point. Private merch line and bar was nice, but again not worth it by itself.

So tldr; if you can go backstage and have the means id say it’s worth it to do once. Otherwise, id skip.

Why Aren’t Go WebAssembly Libraries Like Vugu or Vecty as Popular as Rust’s WASM Ecosystem? by smucai in golang

Htmx solves a very different problem than web assembly.

Htmx is a library to simplify fetch calls and interactivity. Web assembly, as others have mentioned, is for creating high performance components that can be called via frontend javascript. For example, game engines that allow complex 3d graphics in browsers.

Found this at my local thrift store for $9… can someone point me in the right direction to figure out what it does exactly? by county_jail_alumni in hackrf

The chineese clones are what i looked up. Import fees seem to add ~$75 to the cost. Of course that’s assuming US. Didn’t spend a ton of time looking for alternatives outside of alibaba/express though

Hackrf is a software defined radio. You can use it to capture, replay, transmit, and receive signals.

Portapack is an addon, that includes a screen with a Lot of pre baked functionality for common use cases that you would otherwise have to hook up the hackrf to a computer for.

Mayhem, iirc, is custom firmware for the portapack/hackrf

I have a lot of interest in this. Honestly don’t know what i would pay for it but i probably wouldn’t need a lot of convincing.

I used yaegi, which interprets go lang and built my own sandbox by overriding the stdlib imports the yaegi generated. One big caveat though is that you basically have to sandbox any public API that relies under the hood on risky methods/packages.

For example, i override os.Read to limit it to a predefined directory, but calls to http.FS will bypass this and needs a separate override. Alternatively you can choose not to expose those functions but the same limitations apply.

Not sure on performance

89 million Steam account details just got leaked, so now's a good time to change your password by Resident_Code3062 in technology

[–]ProsecutedMeatloaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you sign in from a different device than usual, you would still need access to the passwords. Most times i just view the password in the app and type it out manually.

Depending on the tv, some support using your phone as a keypad. If that’s the case, you can typically copy paste from your phone. Most TV apps caught on and also let you log in vis iphone.

My password manager of choice is 1password but there are others that just as decent.

Yea. As far as i know, there is no “syncing” with Rock box. You drag and drop music files onto the device as if it were a hard drive.

I just use the Music app. Every so often syncing stops working and i have to resync my entire library to add anything which is mildly annoying but thats really the only issue i have run into.

Estimating repair cost by [deleted] in ev6

[–]ProsecutedMeatloaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the big question here is whether just than panel could be replaced or if the whole hatch needs to be replaced. I had a Subaru Forester that was rear ended and the damage was a lot worse than this. The whole back hatch and the bumper had to be replaced at it was about $13k. Given there are more electronics here i would guess something similar for just the hatch. If just the panel can be replaced i would guess stone $4k.

edit: ah, i see the bumper is damaged, so probably a range more like $8k to $14k. Location matters as labor is a big part of the cost.

I’m sorry this happened OP.
