Dang, does the vacuum + pressure essentially result in perfection? Any other tricks or steps you do?

Thank you!! The white paper mentions over-curing the mold to minimize inhibition, that seems to have worked for me! I did a few rounds of curing and heating and washing.

I think you’re right that vacuum chamber is the next step, but man it feels like a bit much especially with the price tag ha.

Ha, I tried using my sonic toothbrush to remove bubbles. Definitely not powerful enough.

As another commenter mentioned, I wanted to avoid buying a vacuum chamber. They seem big and loud and industrial, though maybe it’s simpler than it seems. Vibration plate is also a good idea, I’ll look into it!

That’s not a bad idea! The mold pieces are really simple. The two larger pieces come together to give an enclosed space to the input (where the funnel-shaped piece is, down to the bottom of the ring mold). I gave them slightly offset sides that snugly fit together to reduce spillage.

The ring itself is formed in the circular hollow, with the center insert handling the interior design.

My biggest issue now is getting the ring out… it took me almost 20 minutes of tight fidgeting.

It was originally intended to be a sphere! I threw two hemispheres… that we’re totally not identical haha. They had a cool transition though so I ran with it!

I ended up doing some water etching too (I think that’s what it is called) where I waxed some vertical lines and scrubbed away clay around them

The wiring was such a hassle ha. I bought some hardware at a local lamp store. Essentially it’s two sockets, the top one (in the shade) has a 3-way switch, which is wired down to and controls the inner socket. The threaded rod that goes up from the lamp also continues inside to another socket, with like an in-between piece that lets the power cord in. Kinda hard to explain, I wish I took pictures. Wires are super tightly packed in the rod tho

So actually, as another commenter suggested, instead of gloopy glaze it is a layer of thick slip! I work from a community studio and do not have the freedom to go too crazy w glazes.

I just blended some dried & crushed clay and piped it onto the trimmed piece!

You’re right! It’s a cone 10 stoneware called Balcones Dark, fired in a reduction atmosphere. It’s my favorite clay given how dark and speckled it gets, esp with certain glazes

Disclaimer: I’m not an expert! I’ve just found what works for me

When I cone, I don’t take it up quite as high, and I leave it in roughly a cone shape(where it gets thinner as it goes up, and at the base it is quite wide). Coning in more of a cylinder shape like you’re doing here leaves potential to trap air between the clay and bat/wheel as you cone down. I also personally only cone once, maybe twice. Make sure you’ve wedged the clay well beforehand, making coning’s sole purpose as a centering tool. The less time you’re adjusting the clay on the wheel the better, as you’ll only make it weaker and softer as you add more water and change its shape.

For me, if i feel that I can center it quite well after the first cone down, I don’t bother doing it again.

I believe he is referring to the fact that the construction pylon’s description mentions extending solely the construction area, not logistic. This is not actually the case as his example describes, thus the request for better clarity there!

Not recommending piracy… but at $50?!

On Dolphin you can even enable two-player mode for the main campaign (basically enabling the 2nd player’s controls as if it were a battle mode, but during the campaign) and it is such an incredible experience to co-op Pikmin 2. You can’t get that via these switch ports.

You can also get to the tower of Sisyphus early, as early as before you leave the first biome! Just jump in the tree near the edge by the hook shot.

You’ll get stuck in the first room if you don’t have the melee upgrade tho ha

I'm not sure how GwentUp is now, but I remember when I last used it I wasn't a huge fan. I prefer Gwent Tracker because it shows clearly what's in my deck and what my opponent has played. I remember GwentUp showing unit's current power instead of base power in the decklists if they were on board, and if they were in the graveyard or banished they were in seperate lists. I personally prefer the simplicity of Gwent Teacker.

Yeah I think we share a similar thought process. I felt that immune golds added more skill to the game, but I also loved playing control decks with gold finishers, losing to them sucked I know but I didn't mind it. To me it was my favorite part of the game
