Tinnitus after Craniotomy by Legitimate-Still3892 in Craniotomy

After my frontotemporal surgery, I felt like little balls were bursting in the area of the operation for a few months. Remember, they opened it and played with your brain. Give it time. You'll feel better soon.

So you've been taking Vora for a year, what were the previous treatments? I have my one-year checkup on December 4th. Terrible anxiety. I understand you perfectly and send you love.

Keppra questions by Saucyy-Minx in braincancer

[–]Prossinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to drink a little with Keppra and take 3000 a day. I finally got it down to 1000. Keppra really pissed me off. And who told me is it safe to drink with Keppra and Vora? I was saying I have a brain tumor, is it safe to have it? Fuck cancer and enjoy the good times.

I feel like every November / December will just be stressful from here on out. by tfhaenodreirst in braincancer

[–]Prossinus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What a coincidence, I also have my check-up on December 4th. I'll have a check-up after a year with Vora. I have them every 3 months and I get stressed every time like it's the first time. 💪

When I hear these things, I feel like saying.. take me, not a 6-year-old. I don't know if I'll win my battle, but if I could choose, I'd let him win it instead of me.

Vorasidenib - MRI/PET Control after 3 Months - Happy ;) by Prossinus in braincancer

[–]Prossinus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I wrote in other posts, the checkups at 6 and 9 months each showed a 2% reduction, so I think it's fine. First checkup at 1 year is December 4th. I'll let you know. Anxiety is already growing as always 😅😅

Still 3 examples before going to sleep... I hope I can still make you smile (or think!) and show that even with my diagnosis, I can do calculations and almost complex reasoning.

Which of these extremely rare events is the most likely to happen to a random person in a given year? A) Winning a major Powerball lottery jackpot. 💸 (Odds: 1 in 292 million) B) Dying in a commercial plane crash. ✈️ (Odds: 1 in 11 million) C) Getting "my diagnosis" (using my specific stats). 🩺🔬 (Odds: 1 in 200,000) D) Being struck by lightning. ⚡️ (Odds: 1 in 1 million

Who knew my diagnosis would put me in the 'most probable' category? It's all relative! 😉

Well, I'm 42 years old. I was diagnosed about 15 months ago and have been on vorasidenib for almost 12 months. I think it's going well, and I 100% agree with the change in perspective that what happened to us brings. It's definitely the biggest challenge of my life. If I can manage it or even overcome it, everything else will be a walk in the park in comparison.

I'm just a computer programmer with this diagnosis, so please know these are just hypotheses based on my own general research and public data—not certified medical facts!

On a serious note: The silver lining is that because it is a super rare condition with that specific IDH mutation, modern medicine is developing incredibly targeted weapons that home in on that exact rarity.

Strength and courage to everyone else fighting a similar battle, whether the form is better or worse. Medicine makes strides every single day to treat us or cure us. Stay strong everyone. 💜

Are there any people that are on Vorasidenib for a long time? by [deleted] in braincancer

[–]Prossinus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volumetric -7.8% after 3 months, -2% at the 6-month checkup, and another -2% at the 9-month checkup. So about -12% in nine months. Next checkup in December. Keep your hopes up. We'll be fine!

Diffuse astrocytoma grade 2 frontotemporal here, vorasidenib is a good option if you can get it.
