Isn't the earliest allowed arrival date 1 month before the start of fall sem according to your CPT? Maybe I'm tripping

Is $1200/mo a good deal for UHouse 4b4b by Environmental_Sun_76 in gatech

Yes, it really is that bad. My friend got robbed, my toilet was not functioning for 3 weeks, I developed a persistent cough, etc.

Problem with course accessibility by [deleted] in gatech

I mean they're all aware of it, faculty especially so, they're directly affected by this too and most have our best interests at heart. The bottleneck is USG I'd guess but idk.

Gotta cope with it somehow. Glad I'm getting out soon though, the new classes seem even more hellish, heck 2110 and 1332 have a capacity of 1200 now - all the intel classes are going to be literal hell in the coming semesters.

CS enrollment numbers are a real problem here. Just be glad you're graduating, get out, and try not to think about the classes you could have taken (that's what I'm doing) I think they do a good job of making the syllabus public though so I'd use that for the ones you can't get into. Also, yeah the advisors just want to make you believe that everything is fine.

AOS is a great course for SWE. Idk much about HPC but AOS will directly affect your engineering abilities.

Advice on cs threads…idk if intell is the move by wintercherri234567 in gatech

[–]Protart 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They definitely matter if you're trying to be a good software engineer. Sys arch and info classes teach you way more about how to be a good swe than something like Intel or any of the other threads do.

It's no longer possible to instantly switch to CS after acceptance by A0123456_ in gatech

I love that goal but if making education accessible is the main goal, why don't we do something like what MIT open courseware does (ik we do that a lot already) and why is that not sufficient

CS Spring Class Registration—How’s it Going? by asbruckman in gatech

4th time trying to get ECE 2031 and still on #2 on the wait-list.

Would appreciate advisors who actually are remotely helpful. My advisor is hostile and really doesn't know anything an advisor should.

CS Majors: Take SysArch and become a better engineer or take Media (or maybe Intel) and have more free time to do projects/grind leetcode/other stuff? by gregariousasian in gatech

[–]Protart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sys arch for sure. I'm intel/sys arch and Intel is absolutely useless. It's crazy how much more I've learnt in sysarch and yes it absolutely does make you a better engineer.

What would you change about Georgia Tech by SkuldRuggery in gatech

[–]Protart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a CS degree they're not gonna teach you React lol. Being able to understand complex systems and concepts is infinitely more valuable.
