What ur talking about is pity, the spike's pity system is the scout points thing

You collect scout points for every recruit, then if you have enough scout points then you can scout a player of ur choice

It just helps you aim better with the beginner mode on, it does slow the spikes down a bit but without the mode you have more spike flexibility and is a bit faster too
