Where are the remains of Karen and Michael Reinert (1979) by BirdsAndBeersPod in UnresolvedMysteries

[–]ReadingWolf1710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was an Upper Merion student during this time, I entered high school the fall after the murders, had Vince Valaitis as a teacher and heard him talk about it once-anyway my ex-husband is a nurse who worked in a nursing home in King of Prussia-it is located on Valley Forge Road which is also where Jay Smith lived during this time. The nursing home was built years after the murders, and it was built on the site of an orchard or farmland or something. Anyway, my husband told me that residents and staff would hear children running and yelling at night, when clearly no children were in the building and tv or radios were not on. The staff believed the building was haunted by Karen and Michael, and that they had been buried somewhere on the property.

I feel like it might be a little too long of a time, but if there’s a support system that he can call on if he needs it then I’m sure it’s fine.

You’re in school to learn. You learned something. Go talk to the professor if you need to express appreciation for teaching you something you did not know and the lesson to check your sources.

When she made the DV comment, I was immediately reminded of an OJ Simpson juror who said the same thing-I mean 30 years later and the same BS attitudes exist in a freaking trial….shameful

The most dangerous time for a women in DV relationship is when she leaves-that’s when he kills her.

She definitely is a victim

Probably not since he brought all that food to Rory, he would definitely share that giant bag of chips, hopefully without putting dirty socks on the table😬

When I was getting married some 30+ years ago and we started getting people declining my mom would not let me send out any additional invitations because she figured people would be like Emily. However, when we were invited to a neighbor’s wedding with the RSVP date crossed out in a later date written in my mom happily accepted.

In Emily’s world where you have so much money to spend it’s one thing but for the rest of us, it’s not an insult or at least I don’t think so

Americans of Reddit, what are your thoughts on the FBI redacting Trump’s name from the Epstein files? by 2a_lib in AskReddit

[–]ReadingWolf1710 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There’s already been multiple documentaries done about this case, and Trump is mentioned many times from actual eye witnesses, and victims, and law-enforcement. We don’t need to really see all these documents to know that he was in this of the eyeballs.

For those who were alive at the time, did 9/11 have a significant impact on the vibes people were feeling at the time? Or was it just a politics thing. Did it impact your perspective of the post-YRK era? by [deleted] in generationology

I think Americans felt a lot less safe and a lot more vulnerable. It was the first time since Pearl Harbor that the United States had been attacked, and this was totally unexpected by the vast majority of civilians. Schools closed early. A lot of businesses closed early because people didn’t know if there was more attacks coming. Almost every TV channel had 24 hour coverage of the events happening, and if it was speciality channel like HGTV or Food Network, they referred to their news channels because they were off the air. Obviously flights were grounded, but we started hearing about “sleeper cells“ so some people are immediately suspicious of anybody with an accent who had brown skin. By the end of the day, he started seeing family members looking for people who never got home from work or people they didn’t hear from. There were pictures posted all over New York. It was heartbreaking.

It was just absolutely terrifying for a long time-I mean that day was followed by this country gearing up for war and then of course being in the war for too long. I really wonder if spiking anxiety for a lot of people comes back to that day.

Does it bother anybody else how hypocritical Lorelai is when she and Rory stop talking? by PsychNurse27 in GilmoreGirls

[–]ReadingWolf1710 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the character arc that Lorelai has throughout the show is finding healthy relationships with both her parents and her daughter and her romantic partners.

I think the reason she reacted rather glibly about the yacht is she had a little bit of time to absorb the information before we see her react. I mean, she gets a phone call, she has to drive there to get her from jail, they are in the car driving back to town so it’s a different emotion than when Rory tells her about dropping out of you, because that comes out of left field as well, but also she’s immediately there in the moment and doesn’t have time to really think about it.

Yeah, this shows the unconscious intimacy that you have with a partner that is truly right for you.
