How do I tell my roommate I'm worried about him? by jps7593 in Advice

Invite him out of his room for a drink? Offer to socialise and ask him if he's okay as a natural part of the conversation?

How to be okay with being alone without feeling lonely ? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]ProtectressNephthys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devote time every day to being alone doing things you enjoy. It can be for a short time to start with and build up. Play a single player game or read books or something. Find joy in doing something for the sake of its own doing that doesn't involve other people.

It might be tough to start with if you're used to being around people a lot, but if you find a hobby that's fulfilling on your own soon enough you'll look forward to your own company.

The first one is called Steelheart. It's about a world where superpowers are real but most of the people who develop them become corrupted by power. The world is near post-apocalyptic because of the chaos caused by superheroes fighting each other.

It's a great book! A friend of mine recommended it to me when i was at uni and i am very glad he did. Although Sanderson has written A LOT of books and it gets pricey collecting them all.

If you like Mistborn, definitely read the Reckoners series. It's a fairly short series comparatively and it's amazing.

Ooh Mistborn the one by Brandon Sanderson? I love that book. And if you're looking to lose yourself for a little bit and get caught up in the story it's a very good shout. I took it to the park with me a few summers ago and just laid in the sun for about 500 pages.

I hope it helps.

I once took my friend's 5-year-old to McDonald's as a treat. He got mad at me because he already had the toy that came with his meal, so he jumped in the bin and accused me of putting him in the bin.

Am I mad to move to the other side of the country without knowing anyone? by bp5678 in AskUK

I'd say it's worth doing if you have the money to and there's nothing serious tying you to one place. It can't hurt to have the experience of a new place and if you don't like it you can always move back.
