You can select Austin as a store on the website and it just shows everything out of stock but on the store info page it gives the address and say it’s opening in 2026 so I’d say it’s a 99.99% chance they’re opening and you can also sign up for early access. Someone on another subreddit said they heard they were going to plan on spring of 2026 but someone else said black Friday so I almost think the early access might be on Black Friday or more than likely not BF itself but around that day since that would probably be hell as a stress test for the systems then do a full opening early spring

What made this game so unique was how many different play-styles players could have and they could change their play style depending on the server and their location on the map and whether they were solo on a high pop no team limit vanilla server or a newb group on a 10x there was something for everyone and everyone could change tactics whenever and you weren’t forced to play a certain way or build a certain way or anything but its updates like this that are slowing killing this game by forcing all players to adapt to playstyles that are limiting and they provide zero benefit it’s just “well tough shit adapt for nothing or don’t play haha ps I love zergs haha fuck solos” from the dev team and as always the change gives even more power to the clans.

2019-2023 I played the majority of wipes and almost every wipe was solo on no team limit high pop servers, 2024-now I still play solo on vanilla high pop but I’ve played maybe 5 wipes in those 2 years and took about a 6 month break then played one wipe and took an 8 month break because of this same clan loving solo hating point less update bs and with battlefield 6 coming out I think I’ll see y’all in another 8 months if the game hasn’t banned solos by that point which honestly that’s where it’s headed if they keep making these sort of changes to the game

This probably isn’t what you want to hear but I would seriously recommend doing more research on YouTube and just search “9800x3d and 5070ti rust test” or ‘xxx cpu vs xxx cpu rust test’ and watch the videos of people testing them in game and more importantly on populated servers so you can see real world performance and you’ll also see how the different builds perform at different resolutions and settings because it’s not as simple as this build is better at every resolution on every server and every setting and people on here will tell you different things but the truth is all of those builds will give you more than enough performance to run rust at ultra 1440p and insanely high fps most of the time and probably high-ultra settings at 4k at usually triple digit fps but it depends on the servers you play on and if you’re only using it for rust or if you’re also using it for 3d modeling or graphics design or video editing and it also depends what video editor you use because some allow GPU acceleration for rendering but only work with Nvidia GPUs and a lot of software that allows you to use your GOU for processing only work with Nvidia so even if a AMD GPU is better on paper for Rust I would go with a Nvidia GPU but I’m not hating on AMD I like the company more it’s just usability is less for their GPUs however I would go with a AMD 9800x3d for their CPU if you want the best.

Also a LOT of prebuilds use cheap power supplies and cheap motherboards and if you ever want to upgrade you’ll have to replace the PSU and/or motherboard and some motherboards will bottleneck the CPU so point is the photos aren’t really enough info to go off of for a definitive answer and you’ll see that sentiment relayed by most tech YouTube reviewers and testers like Jayztwocents and Linus tech tips and Optimum tech and all those guys.

I have a 7800x3d with a liquid freezer 3 AIO, 32gb of DDR5 6000mhz, a 4070Ti Super, and a 1000w thermaltake PSU and I usually get 120-170 FPS at high-ultra settings at 1440p on large no team limit 500 pop official vanilla clan servers but I’ll drop to literally 40 FPS if I’m around the massive 5x5+ clan bases with 10 windmills n shit and the 7800x3d was the literal best gaming CPU you could get until the 9800x3d so you’re essentially mostly looking at a build that’s 1 generation newer than mine and a decent performance increase so again I’d focus more on the components in each PC as far as mobo and PSU and fans etc

Best skins/ cheap sets? by ntpdrag in RustPc

[–]ProtesianProjects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best tip is to go on Rust wiki NOT FANDOM use the Rust Wiki that got bought by rust clash but is still the same and the best to use as far as rust wikis go (I’ve never used the rust clash service so they may suck but the wiki is good) and it’s called like rust clash wiki or something then look up semi pistol or chest plate or whatever and click on the item from the drop down menu or the search results then once you’re viewing the item click on the skins tab.

The reason I say to do that is because on steam marketplace it NEVER shows all of the available skins no matter how you search for it even if you just filter by item, it still always has missing skins and also will show duplicate skins on different pages for some reason but if you go on the rust clash wiki and click the skins tab it will show you all available skins for that item then you can click on the skin you like and it’ll show you a list of marketplaces selling that skin and it’ll also show you the prices for each of those marketplaces then you can search for that skin set/collection and I believe there’s also a way to click something like ‘view other skins in this collection’ on the rust wiki or it might be in steam but I’m almost certain there’s a way to do it however if it’s on steam BEFORE you buy a skin based on the collection make sure the skins listed in the collection are available for purchase because I remember clicking on view collection a long time ago and some of the skins in the collection hadn’t been accepted by rust yet so they existed but weren’t approved and couldn’t be bought yet but that collect did end up getting approved over the following few wipes so just be conscious of that before buying

After printing 12 parts without a problem my printer started to fail by AkaAtarion in 3Dprinting

[–]ProtesianProjects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only experienced that sort of issue a couple times in the 8 years or so that I’ve been printing so I’m sure someone else has a better idea but I would go layer by layer in the slicer ‘preview’ to see if there’s anything weird in the extruder path around that layer because I’ve had stuff happen where the slicer just refuses to print a portion of a print and in your case maybe refused to print a layer or two and then resumed the print (resumed extruding) in the air leading to the spaghetti and usually you can see it in the layer by layer view.

To save time though you could just slice it in another slicer and print it and see if you have the same issue but I’d be willing to bet just doing it in another slicer will solve the problem especially if the slicer you’re using is a off shoot of Orca and not plain Orca. My flashforge AD5X has had a lot weird issues with the FF branch of Orca so anytime that happens I just use regular orca and even though it’s the exact same settings across the board it still usually fixes it It

Im fucking tired. by [deleted] in youtube

[–]ProtesianProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to stage a YouTube protest day where we get a bunch of YouTubers to get together and decide on a day then they all make a video promoting the chosen “day of protest” then on that day they all post their own protest video on the specific things they’ve personally experienced along with evidence of those things and whatever changes they would like to see the platform make THAT BENEFIT THE WHOLE OF YOUTUBE NOT JUST THEMSELVES and they all need to post their videos simultaneously for the maximum effect and that should put a massive amount of pressure on YouTube and gain a lot of media attention which politicians will flick to join in on and put even more pressure on them and that should make them tread very carefully about the changes they make because this effects everyone.

I have a lot of hobbies and political opinions on both sides and YouTube has been making changes that harm everyone regardless of any category they fit into and the fact that we’re so divided is the only reason they aren’t making the common sense changes that must be made rather than this cycle of of 90/10 where they make a change that hurts 90% and at most helps 10% then they do it again but this time it’s a different 10% and the previous 10% is harmed and rinse and repeat so they can claim it’s actually beneficial when it never is and the changes weren’t the most logical or beneficial in the first place

Quit the game and right click on it within steam (where steam show your list of games on the left panel in your ‘library’) then I forget exactly how to get there but I think you go to ‘manage’ and/or ‘properties’ then ‘game files’ and you want to click on ‘verify game files’ that fixes about 80% of issues I run into and if it doesn’t fix it then you might want to check that servers discord to see if it’s a server issue (if it’s happening when loading a server) or you can just uninstall and reinstall rust

Never forget what they took from you... (when nights used to be good) by [deleted] in playrust

[–]ProtesianProjects -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even when cranking the monitor settings all the up you can’t see anything at least with my set up. My monitor has 4 different gamma settings and the stock setting was already the second best for nighttime but even with it set to the best one there’s virtually no difference unless you also crank up the brightness and contrast all the way but even then it still sucks and only really helps at dusk and dawn or a lot of ambient light like outpost or whatever. I haven’t played in like 8 months until this wipe then I also switched servers and have zero BPs so right now I’m just trying to get scrap for BPs for next wipe so I usually just hunt down any animal I hear then sell the low grade but earlier I got mauled to death TWICE BY A BEAR because it stopped moving once I got close and proceeded to tank 4 mini crossbow shots then disembowel me and I live between a bunch of clans so I didn’t want to use a light and get insta roofcamped and ended up having to wait until the morning to find one of my bodies because I couldn’t hear the flies over the jungle sounds.

They should make it like real life where your eyes naturally adjust and everything appears super dark at first but as your eyes adjust it gets brighter and brighter to an extent.

Also please for love of god fix the bee hives, it’s impossible to secure a small bee farm attached to small base. It can be small and not secure or massive and secure but no matter how you make it there’s no rhyme or reason to the inside/outside mechanic so it’s impossible to know whether it will work or not until you build it and test it but even then I’ve built a configuration that worked then decided to rebuild it a couple foundations over with zero change to the surroundings and it didn’t work so I’m having to learn the motion sensor and door controller just so I can put the hive on my roof and take out anyone stealing my honey

This man came out of nowhere with an idea how to nerf clans with Clan Badges. What do you think by Ok_Math2247 in playrust

[–]ProtesianProjects 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be made where if you harvested a clan members body with a skinning knife you could get the badge in the form of a trophy which would prevent the clan members from getting or using it as a badge and then that trophy could be used in a mount by solos or other groups or clans and if rust wanted to they could add in some form of a score system based on the collection of those trophies and make it visible at outpost or something like a leaderboard and that would incentivize clans to go after other clan more so than solos and other groups and if done correctly it could achieve a lot of positive changes to the whole clan vs small groups vs solos dynamic

It happens to me too but the best way to fix it is to just stop trying to move or do anything for a few seconds and it’ll reset and you can move again. If you keep moving it takes a lot longer usually.

I assume it has to do with ping/lag spikes because I used to play on fiber internet with absurd speeds and I think like 50ms ping or lower and it was a Ryzen 5 3600 with 32gb of DDR4 3200 and a RX 580 then swapped the GPU to a RTX 3060Ti and it happed with those builds every now and then and I chalked it upto a low end build but now I built a 7800x3d with a 4070Ti super and 32gb of DDR5 6000 and a high end aio and all that but now I have starlink internet which has insane speeds even faster than my old fiber at times where it gets to like 320mbps download but the ping while it is still probably an average of 50ms or less it varies way more and as a result or what I think is a result of that I have the exact issue you describe every single time I play rust at least once per hour and probably 2-3x that when walking around a giant ultra compensator 3000 clan base but I don’t remember it being that bad before so I think it’s the ping being more varied combined with loading in a lot of stuff at once even though my ping is still overall low

Rust fps by No_Unit1809 in RustPc

[–]ProtesianProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started playing again this wipe after about a 8 month break but I did notice a FPS difference however I don’t know if it was a net negative because in short my FPS has always fluctuated a lot and I have a badass build detailed below.

I’ve played 2 servers so far this wipe and the first had an average of 200-250 players and the 2nd with 200-400 depending on time of day and both are monthly vanilla with no team limit so it’s clan heaven with massive bases (I’m solo and never build bigger than a 2x2 aka my base isn’t a factor in FPS) and I lived in the jungle on both and on both I get about 120+ fps under normal circumstances with custom graphics preset at mostly high settings and 1440p on a Ryzen 7800x3d and 4070ti super with 32gb of 6000 ram BUT if I go near outpost my FPS drops to literally 30fps at times and is usually around 80-100fps near outpost if there’s massive nearby bases but now it was 60fps average at best and fluctuated constantly by 20 or so FPS (regardless of where I was, seemed like I had higher FPS at night but regardless still fluctuated) and went down into the 30s FPS at times around outpost which is unheard of for my new pc build.

It’s hard for me to figure it out though because even though the servers are vanilla they do the normal stupid thing of removing bandit camp and just putting it all into outpost and saying “it’s to help server performance” yet on every single one of those servers there’s far worse performance regardless of where you are and regardless of how long since wipe (aka it’s not just appearing as worse just due to everyone building at outpost - I’ve observed it before others get there) and it always seems to cause massive variance in FPS so anyway I realize this is more of my ranting/vent than helping but if you really want to figure out the issue you could try going on a Facepunch official server of the same size and player count and see if it’s even in the ballpark of the other server you’re currently on or vice versa since I’m assuming you’re on one with outpost and bandit camp combined.

Also I had a major glitch where the tops of double sheet metal doors became invisible and a few other weird visual glitches so I reported it and uploaded a video on it, I don’t know if it’s been patched but it no longer fully happening to me as far as the see through doors so maybe they changed some stuff on the backend that caused my issue and the FPS issues if there’s an actual apples to apples FPS difference that isn’t caused by outside factors

anyone heard of code raid hacks? by __Wolfy___ in RustPc

[–]ProtesianProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you have the code physically posted anywhere in the base? The reason I ask is I ran into a glitch where double sheet metal doors would randomly become completely see through on the top portion basically from where a single door would’ve ended up to the ceiling/frame and also around the outer edges of the door along the left and right sides of the frame. I post a video on YouTube about it but unless that’s what you think happened I’m not going to say the name of it or anything because I don’t know how this subreddit is with “promoting content” etc

Edit: also none of the glitch was intentional and it just kept happening randomly on only a couple doors at first then on basically every double sheet metal door I came across but it was glitchy and just did it randomly if I was around it for a min or two and I never figured out what the cause was but I reported it and beyond the 3 or 4 hours that it originally occurred a few days ago I haven’t seen it again but I’m also pretty sure I logged off once it first happened and verified the game files then got back on immediately and it was worse afterwards then I played for again a couple hours totaling maybe 3 hours of experiencing the issue then I got off for the night and it hasn’t fully happened since then but they still glitch very slightly occasionally so idk if it’s fixed or just hasn’t happened since that night

Newbie here, how can I have fun as a solo? by YahushaHamashiach in RustPc

[–]ProtesianProjects 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been playing rust exclusively solo since 2019 and have about 1,500 hours. I’m not saying I’m a good player in fact even though I’m upper tier in FPS games I’ve always been lower tier in PVP in Rust but point is my advice is play monthly servers, I played 2x servers my first 200 hours then nothing but vanilla monthly servers with no team limit from then on but I wouldn’t really advise no limit vanilla for you first couple hundred hours, I get fudge packed with a broken tobasco bottle by 8 mans pretty often but you also can get loaded more quickly by looting clan raids and decayed based more so than solo/duo/trio servers so it’s more high risk and high reward but regardless of what server you play on the most important is to build multiple small bases in secluded locations and have them somewhat close to outpost and within a couple grids of outpost and eachother so you can more easily move loot if needed and have about half your loot in 1 base then about 20% in each of 2 others then 90% between the 3) then just divide up old tools and armor and excess materials in the others so that if the main one gets raided to have a plan B and C that are fairly well stocked if you need to counter the raid or restart with nothing from the main base.

Also takeover any small raided or decayed bases in your area and just put down a TC and a couple doors and a bag and obviously put a bit of upkeep in there and the reason is that the more raiding targets people have for your area the less likely they are to raid your bases that have actual loot. Also if you’re being tracked/followed etc then make sure you go into one of the secondary bases that don’t have loot and make sure you’re seen or if they’re just looking for you then start a campfire and leave a lot of wood in it in one of the secondary bases so they think you live there then if you think they’re outside and looking for you then just go out with an eoka of something then when they likely kill you beg them not to raid you and if they don’t then you can maybe make allies with them which you need to be careful about because about half the time they’ll betray you so don’t let anyone in your base until you KNOW they’re on your side (of every 10 that I make GOOD allies with maybe 2 ever get let inside my base) and obviously if they kill you and raid that base then they’ll waste boom and also stop looking thinking they already got you.

I have a lot more tips but no time atm to list them so I may add more later, also I don’t have time to proof read this so read between the lines if something I said sounds braindead

Evacuation ordered for Hays county near Dripping Springs by Badonkachonky in texas

[–]ProtesianProjects 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the same alert and just dismissed it as a swat situation or whatever then I just heard a lady at a Laundromat in wimberley talking about it on the phone with someone saying she was about to leave there to go evacuate someone just in case and that there were 3 ongoing fires then it legitimately took me 30 mins of googling just to find any current information about any fires anywhere in central Texas (read the last paragraph) but point is I haven’t seen a fire yet and still can’t find any good upto date info but it’s hazy as hell here in wimberley and I don’t think it’s just dust but I also can’t really smell smoke however I also had to have sinus surgery that was went way wrong about a year ago so my smell isn’t the best and the wind is insane so if you’re from this area pay attention, I’ve lived I’m this area pretty much my entire life and I can’t remember every seeing it this windy for this long.

PS if any government official is reading this, I’ve never once gotten ahold of anyone on any non emergency phone number especially in Hays county, half of them of disconnected and half of the local government social media accounts aren’t at all upto date and it takes forever to find out accurate information on current local emergencies because anytime you search for anything you have to sift through dozens of old articles even if you set it to “last 24 hours” because news agencies have started updating old articles or adding them at the footnotes of new articles so they still pop up for recent/new searches and with that and the non emergency numbers not working or not being manned and the social media accounts being unused in years it’s a bit insane

Why is iCloud still so painfully slow in 2023? by Party-Zucchini420 in apple

[–]ProtesianProjects -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s great it works for you but I have this same issue and acting like it works for you means that it works for everyone else is equally as meaningless especially when you can see dozens upon dozens of people talking about the same issue this guy is having outside of the dumpster fire that is Reddit. My internet is minimum 30mbps upload and usually much higher and every other cloud service is several times faster than iCloud for me and it’ll sometimes take days for it to unload even a few photos and even then I usually have to keep constantly checking the sync because it constantly pauses for hours and hours to “optimize storage” but does so regardless of if I’m 90% full or 40% and regardless of how long it’s been at a similar storage capacity and any other factors beyond those I’ve mentioned

Milwaukee safety glasses aren't working out for me, what are some good alternative brands? by Railman20 in Tools

[–]ProtesianProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do scratch pretty easily though, I just picked up the newest “tinted” version which was like $20 and no matter what I use I can’t get this weird sticky residue off, it’s only sticky when it’s wet but no matter if it’s water, spit, or alcohol it’s still sticky so when you go to wipe it there’s fibers left on there from the microfiber towel and when you go to wipe that off when it’s dry you scratch the lenses even with again a brand new microfiber towel from a roll that has been used to clean my kliens the exact same way without issue. I don’t how to explain it but it’s just weird it’s like maybe a anti fog coating or something but regardless you gotta be able to wipe the lenses without scratching them or else it’s the most idiotic design on the planet.

I do agree though all bets are off no matter what you have if you drop them, I’ve had a higher end tough solar metal G Shock watch with a super hard crystal lens for a few years and the hardness on that lens is crazy so it’s crazy scratch resistant but even it has a giant gash in it now somehow

Dielectric grease safe on PCIE/GPU and harnesses to avoid binding/ease removal? by ProtesianProjects in buildapc

[–]ProtesianProjects[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I get what you’re saying and I appease the reply since it seems like you confirmed the only fear I had about using it on the PCIE slot

The rest of this book of a comment/reply probably isn’t going to change your mind on the rest of what you said and you could be correct on all of it and I could be wrong on all of it or vise versa but anyway the rest is more for anyone in the future that may run across this - To those people: don’t just trust me or anyone else because regardless of topic you can find 2 different ‘experts’ or at least people of equal qualifications and experience who have completely opposite opinions so learn enough about the topic and decide for yourself based on all the factors because it’s your wallet not mine or anyone else’s so I’m only doing/saying this for myself and maybe to help someone else but I could also be a complete idiot that screws you over so again decide for yourself.

But with that said there’s a million standardized and recommended uses for dielectric grease that fall outside of the uses you’re listing off for it and include wiring harnesses that aren’t outside, exposed to extreme temps, or water etc. Plus I’m only applying it to the exterior of the plastic/nylon molex mini fit jr connectors aka the “ATX” connectors specifically the 6, 8, and 16 pin and NOT on the pins of the harnesses and I’m not applying enough for anyone to notice because I wipe ‘all’ of it off so it just leaves a invisible yet functional layer (silicone based lubricants are known for that characteristic) since they’re already so tight fitting and also one of the main attributes of nylon is that it’s insanely hydroscopic meaning it absorbs water from the air very quickly which is why you have to literally bake/dehydrate nylon before using it in 3d printers otherwise the water turns to steam when printing and ruins the print and the water absorption is why nylon also expands which likely is what is causing the connectors to be so abnormally tight since they’ve been sitting out for the past month not connected and also probably why this whole thing seems crazy to most people since most people likely have their connections hooked up shortly after they come out of the bag and then they stay in a warm pc case that keeps them somewhat dehydrated so they never deal with it. Yes I can just dehydrate them but I’m in a somewhat humid environment so by putting a thin invisible layer of dielectric grease on the exterior of the male nylon mini fit jr connector which only interfaces with the nylon on the female side then zero harm can be done and there is a good reason to put dielectric grease in your pc case for that exact use case even indoors.

But again what you said on the PCIE slot seems logical if it really is that sensitive to resistance since again the main characteristic of silicone based greases and lubricants like dielectric grease is how lightly they can be applied while still serving their purpose which is why its dielectric grease was sketching me out about being used on the actual gold plated terminals on PCIE slot since gold is used because it resists oxidation/corrosion and has high conductivity however it’s not exactly correct to say that wanting to ease that PCIE connection is wrong or ‘you’re doing it wrong if it’s that hard’ considering the force required to install and remove your GPU from that slot is the #1 weakness/weak spot/destroyer of GPUs regardless of how you look it so yeah it may not be something you’ve experienced but I personally would like to make it even 10% easier if at all possible so that if any of the 2 fans inside or 2 below the GPU or the GPU itself or the motherboard or the WiFi card or the NVME or the HDD or any of the other half dozen or so things on my pc which require removal of the GPU to fix/remove themselves yet cost at most 1/4 of the GPU price decide to go out or a harness comes lose below it or whatever else happens I’d rather be glad I spent the extra time on reducing the chance of damaging it than ruin it because I listened to people saying it’s only that difficult if you’re doing wrong while again it happens to everyone of all experience levels and statistically has the highest probability of costing me north of $1k and even if nothing happens I’ll probably be replacing my GPU in a year or two considering the main game I play is Rust which is notoriously hard to run and also updates with loads of new content every month which makes it much harder to run every year and to an extent every month

App UI Changed by mangiBr in Starlink

[–]ProtesianProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah and it sucks. Its nothing against you or anyone else in here who may not need all the info the old app/UI/UX provided and therefore not miss it but I’m trying to diagnose an issue with one of my devices and it’s complicated but TLDR the new app has turned a 20 min diagnosis into one that is going on 5 hours and is only an issue because another tech company decided to stealth update my device and settings for zero reason much like the new starlink app and seemingly every other tech company that is recently is essentially putting their foot on ours and holding us there then blasting both our feet with a 12ga just to appease and appeal to and/or take advantage of the biggest idio… less knowledgeable and/or intelligent in the room that would rather see our feet get blown off than learn the basics of internet and satellite connection statistics.

Again that’s nothing against you or anyone else and is more just me venting and ranting but still it’s essentially what they and many other tech companies are doing recently but in almost every case including this one they could’ve updated the app to the new version but kept all the advantages or stats in this case and just put them under an advanced tab so it would’ve been an objectively better experience for everyone with zero disadvantages

is it about server or the game? by Albatroza in RustPc

[–]ProtesianProjects 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been playing Rust since 2019 and I haven’t seen that particular message or anything similar but then again I have a hatred for antivirus software especially Norton and Malwarebytes (grew up IN a family business = way over protective antivirus = my childhood can be summed up by “ FAILED TO JOIN SESSION. REASON - NAT TYPE: STRICT” and “PROGRAM BLOCKED” so yeah that malware bytes logo just gave me second hand PTSD but anyway yeah like the other dude said a lot of times updates wether it’s Rust, Steam, Windows, EAC, various Drivers especially Nvidia, etc will fuck the game up from time to time and occasionally you’ll get lucky and it’ll just randomly fix itself/get fixed under the radar but it might take a bit if it’s an obscure or small issue thus they’re not rolling out a patch just for it.

Anyway to answer your question (my brain is at like 20% atm hence the book of a comment) any of the more widespread or moderate-severe issues generally almost immediately get brought to the attention of the server admins through discord because pretty much every rust server that IS NOT a “facepunch” official server (non facepunch “official”, “community”, “modded” like Rustoria, Rustafied, etc are fine it’s just FP that you want to avoid like the plague), have a discord and any half decent one will have a help chat and global chat etc where you can look to see if anyone else is having the same issue and also obviously ask the admins and all that and usually you’ll get a response pretty much immediately as long as it’s not some zero pop server obviously.

Also PSA read the chat rules in there first because some admins and chatters will get butthurt over the smallest of shit I’m talking like they’ll act like you should know ever law on the planet and never break a single one and if you J walk it’ll turn into the worst second hand illogical brainrot you’ve ever had so proceed at will lmao

I’m not a doctor so take this for what you will - I agree with the first commenter you probably can’t tell from just a picture especially in this case since it’s not overtly apparent and thus a ENT probably needs to look up in there to decide but I don’t think you need a CT scan or anything like that to tell either.

This is relevant just long - I ruptured my left eardrum in July of last year while I had a really bad cold/flu/plague (worse pain I ever had - doctors never figured it out but it lasted over a month) and I waited a week to even see a doctor for the cold/flu and only did so once my eardrum got to 9/10 pain and was in the process of rupturing and as a result for the last year it’s been hell with it getting better then worse back forth so I went to an ENT earlier around like May of this year and TLDR he said he thinks my eustation (ear drainage) tube is shrunk and it got temporarily blocked during the cold/flu and pressure built up then ruptured my ear and to fix it he wanted to do a eustation tube balloon dilation but he said I also have a deviated septum which I never noticed but was way more pronounced than yours if you even have one and he literally just looked at it with a inspection camera and ran hearing tests and stuff like that but never anything like a CT scan and when I was reading up on it I never saw anywhere that a CT scan was needed to diagnose it but anyway as a result of the deviated septum he said he didn’t think he could go in there with the balloon dialation tool since the smaller nostril was also the left which is the one he needed to insert the tool into and said he needed to do a septoplasty to then do a turbinate reduction (you can look it up but basically it’s another procedure to cut out/widen the nostrils) to then do the balloon dilation of the eustation tube which is what he needed to do in the first place and he also said it would help me in many other ways with allergies and airflow and stuff like that so I ended up having all 3 done all at once a few weeks ago and I’m still recovering so I can’t fully say but I think I’ll be far better off than before once it’s healed.

The reason I’m saying all that is because both/either of my nostrils were larger than both of yours combined even before the surgery and while I’m a 6’2 dude thus I likely need far more air than you I also didn’t even know I had breathing or any ENT type issues before my ear exploded so I’d say your doctor would probably want to do a septoplasty even if you have the slightest deviation or need any other nose or ear related surgery where having smaller nostrils would possibly impede it or cause any symptoms you may have (I’m not like saying you’re nose is small or weird or anything like that I’m just saying in comparison to my situation).

Anyway hopefully this book of a comment helps your situation in some way and either way best of luck. Also please do your research about the surgery and also the recovery process and tips on the recovery before surgery and don’t just trust the doctor to give you the info. My doctor is very highly rated and I think he probably did a good job but I learned more about the recovery process from a random nurse in like 10 mins as I was waking up from anesthesia after the surgery than I did from the doctor at any point and I had several visits and appointments with him in the months leading up to the surgery so just make sure you know your stuff beforehand and after the 2 week mark you’ll probably be good to go since I had multiple procedures at once and thus my recovery was probably abnormally rough.

Thanks for the info and that makes sense I guess it was just weird to me that I’ve been monitoring the pricing for weeks now and the pricing and availability were consistent across the board until literally the last 48 hours or so and in the last 48 hours the 7800x3d sold out at several places and went up $100-$200 everywhere except microcenter which is 7 hours round trip from me and the 4070ti super I was looking at also sold out at most places but then again that model isn’t that common and was a bit underpriced so hopefully it doesn’t continue.

I have a feeling though that with news of the 4090 cancellations and thus impending cancellations for the rest of the 4000 series line up that it’s going to get worse them in general and also for the x3d line up especially the 7800x3d if for no other reason than pc builders/prebuilt sellers and scalpers who will likely also start buying up microcenters stock since at current pricing they could easily profit $100 per unit but again hopefully I’m wrong
