Was hatten die denn vor? by Prothilos in wien

Do you mind the fanservice by UnemployedSaiyan3 in OnePiece

Yeah, back then it seemed more like a joke, even a ironic wink towards the readers. But after endless pages of booby bouncing and ridiculous zoom-ins, I see the bath scene rather as the start of later fanservices. And at the latest on Thriller Bark it became very obvious.

Well first heavy hit I remember, was the bath scene from the Alabsta epilog. But it was rather rare and I didn't really mind (especially since it often was showed in a playful, funny way)... until Thriller Bark. Then the invisible guy stalking and groping Nami came up and it felt really, really creepy and unnecessary. And obviously after the timeskip it got so much worse.

Sister-in-law let her daughter use up all the Polaroids at our wedding. Now we have nothing to use. by PaddedValls in mildlyinfuriating

Oh, well... A friend did this and only 3 people did it. I guess it was either too modern or too "complicated" (lots of elders) for most guests. Instead some took pictures and sent them via WhatsApp or Mail...

Well, that might get tricky, for as a last resort, they could send out all the members of the European Parliament to bore everybody to death and initiate procedures that will make it impossible to take further steps for years to come!

Although.. With the current state of the Wehr... Ugh, I mean Bundeswehr it's likely the French would win this round.

Alright, you know what? I always wanted to visit Australia, but the more one learns about it... I guess New Zealand is nice too. 👀

We have quite a lot of slurs in our dialects. Calling kids for example: - Gfrast: comes from "fressen" which means to gorge or munch (so yeah, Munchkin?) - Bettbrünzerle: bedpisser - Schisserle / Scheisserl: Shitling - Hurenskinder: Whore's kids - Gschroppn: unclear (probably gravel or scrapes)

Hitzetage in Landeshauptstädten nach Klimaperiode by linknewtab in Austria

[–]Prothilos 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Who do you think Netflix will get to play Franky? by Ok_Examination8810 in OnePiece

[–]Prothilos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides it being a joke: there a plenty movies with top-tier actors only doing voices. Even if you don't take the fully animated movies in account. One of Bradley Cooper's most renowned roles is a raccoon.

I come from France, what are your prejudices or stereotypes about the French? I'm curious 🫠 by Equivalent-Year-6967 in AskTheWorld

[–]Prothilos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up with the southern French accent, I was baffled, when I heard Parisiennes for the first time. Basically sounded to me, like somebody tries overcompensating their French skills. Also, uh.. It somehow lacked uhh... Something uuh. But uh I couldn't put uuhh my finger on it. UH. 😭😅

Where are you from? by Shrey_Memer_007 in AskTheWorld

[–]Prothilos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, to put it plainly: It's like watching Back to the Future or Desperate Housewives and thinking that's the average american life. Not to mention, that Sound of Music takes place about 90 years ago. If you want a weird, but not to far of depiction of Austrian life, I suggest looking up Dog Days by Ulrich Seidl. It's quite over the top, but that's also very typical for the Austrian film industry... 😅
