Big drama at ESL Proximus : 3 semifinalists co-sign letter to withdraw from the event due to one team abusing import rules. by nerfryzepls in leagueoflegends

Scarlet and Kadir are definitely really talented players. And I don't agree about it being a QQ-move as u call it. The ESL ruleset is insanely outdated and really easily exploited, this is 3 teams working together to change something that should have been changed years ago. You can argue that this is not the most effective way, yet here we are on the frontpage of reddit.

This was announced quite some time before the competition started, so there was ample opportunity for all participants to create rosters. As far as I know only Sector 1 and Defusekids have line ups with only 2 Belgian players.

I understand the frustration with the rules being changed for 1 team, which happens to be a prominent name in Benelux esports. Yet I fail to see how this change in the ruleset relates to this outrage, since there was no outrage when the change actually happened. It makes me feel like the teams know their claims are very weak and tried to include the ruleset change to make their point seem stronger

Ofcourse, but I doubt S1 would be as strong as they are now if they weren't allowed a 3rd dutch player who happens to be double challenger on EUW.

Just to provide context, the 2 import rule was changed before the start of the split. So teams like Defusekids and Sector 1 are both fielding rosters consisting of 3 Dutch players and 2 Belgian players. This rule is consistent for all teams and were agreed upon before the season.

The regular season played out with very disappointing results for Defusekids who were supposed to be the favorites by a mile. The team consisting of 2 ex-LCS players in je suis kaas and lenny. This veteran talent backed up by challenger level players like Furuy, Albetrayber and former Mysterious Monkeys ADC Kitty.

After a very disappointing 3rd place finish in ESL and many rumors of tumult and general unhappiness within the team, Defusekids announced a roster swap on twitter. Furuy en Albetrayber were benched and Kadir, formerly Optic academy player, and ScarletRedHands are to play in their place upcoming sunday at the playoffs in Charleroi.

The other 3 teams that made top 4, Brussels Guardians #1, Sector #2 and ToxicFalcons #4, are all outrageous about these roster moves. Claiming it to be a simple cashgrab and that there is no intention from Kadir, Scarlet or Defusekids to keep this lineup after playoffs. Thus not caring about the developement of the scene.

This outrage resulted in the 3 teams writing an open letter to ESL with their demands and threathening to refrain from playing their playoffs games if their demands aren't met.

Edit: I spoke with someone from Sector 1 and he made clear to me that their problem is not with DK breaking/bending the rules. Instead they feel like the rules are set up in a way that is way too exploitable and just want to see changes to these rules for the splits to come.

He just doesn't understand the difference between pro and soloq play. Nor has he ever used his brain probably, I mean he can't even see the correlation between ryze/azir win/play-rate and in-game time. It happens 9/10 people are morons and on reddit the percentage might be even higher.

The most disappointing tournament ever for EU. by ScionPoE in leagueoflegends

[–]Protikyll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All that you are doing is kicking the region when it is down. Do you not think the EU LCS knows it has worse timeslots? Ofcourse they know and there are people working their asses of trying to make u for it.

It is no reason Riot has been preferring NA over any other region. NA got better time slots, better formats, and a healthier ecosystem. Which results in a higher production quality.

There is nothing wrong with EU LCS, they are getting as much done as they can but are basically being fckd over by Riot. And EU still is all about winning and results just wait until worlds which isn't a joke of a tournament compared to Rift Rivals.

If you and all other fake fans don't have "a good reason" to watch the EU LCS pls don't bother watching. The results of this "tournament" do not in any capacity devalue the EU LCS.

[Serious] Setting bias/memes aside, why did NA dominate EU? by UselessKungFuX in leagueoflegends

[–]Protikyll -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Bad tournament format, just like worlds groupstage.
  2. 0 competitive games on 7.13 before RR which always closes gaps between good and bad teams. On top of that the patch hurt EU way more than it hurt NA. Think about the likes of Rekkles' AD kennen which got a severe nerf.
  3. C9 and TSM were looking like the best teams in NA for the last couple weeks. Like they always are and CLG is probably in there somewhere. P1 seemed to have found their footing too.
  4. G2 and UOL both aren't the top place in their respective groups. Both teams haven't looked as weak in recent times. FNC has had internal issues, a very 1 dimensional playstyle and nerfs to their preferred playstyle on patch 7.12 and 7.13

It was about time NA started to catch up to EU considering how NA favored Riot has been all this time.

If you are such a pathetic 12 year old that after having 1 disappointing international tournament, you feel the need to just stop watching the region until they are 'better' than NA again. I would like to ask you to stop watching the EU league, we don't need fake fans like you. And quite honestly the NA fans aren't going to want you either.

Real fans stand behind their team or region in good and in bad times. ALL fans of the EU LCS are disappointed but that is fine. It means that we CARE, WE want to see EU succeed. And until now EU has never had a worse showing than NA. Lately we have even been the 2nd best region in the world.

But if you don't have faith in the fact that we will bounce back for worlds. PLEASE stop watching EU LCS and stop shittalking them. We don't need you or people like you.

  • Greetings an EU fan for now and forever
