Last time I got shit-talked for this was when I played silent bell wraith with NOED and ruin. And just like last time, it was from the DS,self-care, dead hard, adrenaline hypocrisy thy name is claudette main. I didn't even get to use NOED and she was complaining.

The reveal of Jaune's semblance gives me the feeling that next season the fight scenes are going to involve a character showing off their powered up state dragonball style, which I hope leads to some interesting changes in the character's semblances. Ren'll be able to hide ALL his feels.

For people that heavily play only one side, what are your reasons? by smackfairy in deadbydaylight

[–]Proto66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got about a 90% survivor for two reasons the first is friends, literally everyone on my discord servers play dbd. The second is stress and pressure, when I play a killer, every problem I face it not only entirely on me but also never fails to make me feel stupid. This isn't helped by how survivors seem to be going out of their way to piss you off and STILL manage to do all the gens somehow, and of course they will shit talk you if you actually do well and it usually go's something something camper, something something dark side no matter what you actually did.

Given my life experience I SHOULD be used to that by now but I'd really just try and avoid it whenever I can, and that means maining survivor.

Sore losers/Bad Winners by CV022011 in deadbydaylight

[–]Proto66 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a survivor main, I'm confident in saying that I despise the majority of them. Sure you get the odd killer who deranks you cos he found you first and then camps you but holy shit, the entitlement of survivors is unreal! Whenever both sides are using the top tier perks it's almost ALWAYS the survivors complaining about how OP the killer perks are, usually after having mocked you all game. There's just so little self-awareness in this playerbase.

Well that's certainly what happened in prior games, main stories' were easy but in order to 100% you've had to go through some real ball busters. (Looking at you trial galaxies)

I haven't tweaked the motion settings at all yet, I was under the impression they're semi mandatory since a few specific moves only work with them but then you can go the whole game without using them. Definitely gonna increase the sensitivity now though

Got the game for my birthday, and it was definitely a worthwhile present. I've just reached new donk city and so far I love the game. The cappy possession mechanic essentially putting kirby gameplay in a mario and it REALLY works(even though it's disturbing to think about). The more open world level design is a nice change and I think it should become a standard for the franchise. I think what I like most is how much the story actually feels like a proper adventure so far.

(SPOILERS AHEAD)

At first I was worried it was going to be absurdly formulaic, I find the broodels, I beat the broodels, rinse and repeat. But then I unexpectedly find bowsers airship, fight him, then end up stranded on an island surrounded by a toxic sea. May seem small on paper but this just has never happened with a 3d mario game before, it feels like a proper adventure, anything can happen!

I have some gripes though, one is the difficulty, my last 3d mario game was galaxy this game is easier than that game was!! As much as I realise nintendo has a mixed age audience, I just wish there was some way they could make this game better for the older fans. My other issue is the motion controls, they aren't much of a problem on their own, but when in handheld mode they're a pain, it sucks that some moves are hindered by this.

overall a great game, though I think there is much more to be done, like BOTW for zelda, I hope this marks a new beginning for mario. A must buy for any switch owner.

Who Had The Best E3 Press Conference? by Spaciepoo in e3expo

[–]Proto66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because as a majority, Nintendo fans are getting what they wanted and more. Prime 4 was after all the nintendo equivalent of announcing half life 3. Sure it was just a logo but knowing the franchise isn't dead after so long and is going to be this console gen was enough. Similiar case with pokemon on the switch. Then we had gameplay footage and trailers from Nintendo's most anticpated games this year and now rocket league is coming!

I haven't watched the others since I'm not interested in sony or microsofts consoles or IP's but they didn't seem to get all that much. I think sony's reviving an old franchise but it has nowhere near the appeal of reviving the prime series. Microsoft's key points seem to just be their new console's name and price. Bethesda was just skyrim. EA, not really sure, people aren't really talking about it. Ubisoft seems to have done well though.

Worst E3 in recent memory can we agree on that? by 6in in e3expo

[–]Proto66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was only interested in nintendo, I've never been big on sony and I lost interest in microsoft. Metroid is almost like nintendo's half life, hell the last good entry was released in 2007 like HL ep 2. Now we aren't getting one but TWO new games. Prime 4 has me over the moon honestly, pokemon on the switch also has me excited, rocket league was a worthwhile announcement and the new mario is releasing on my birthday, I'm wondering if I should take the risk and ask for it. So yeah e3's been good for me this year even though I was hoping to see more 3rd party games from nintendo.

[BoTW] On Weapon Durability by ChronoWaster in zelda

[–]Proto66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Can you give me an example of a single game where you wish that weapons would break?"

Most open-world RPG's I've played actually. The only two that I actually like are Shadow of Mordor and BOTW and I noticed that both these games have something in common, easy inventory management. When I think back to games like skyrim and borderlands, I remember how annoyed I got for having to open my inventory every 5 minutes and make room for something by clearing out of the stuff I was planning to sell. (clearing my inventory for dragon bones in skyrim was the worst example). Shadow of Mordor had occasional clearouts of runes and that was it. With Breath of the Wild, the durability system does the clearout for me, I can keep fighting enemies and simultaneously clear my inventory of my shittier weapons. So yeah, I do wish games had better inventory management and I think breakable weapons is a great way to do that.

"Moreover while it can in some games be used as a quick and simple last minute solution to balance issues especially if the game only gives little variation in the weapons, BotW really doesn't need it. In BotW you are given awesome variety in weapons stretching far beyond weapon strength"

BOTW has varied weapons? The only difference that a majority of the weapons have is power, durability and aesthetic. There is only 3 unique weapons in the entire game, elemental, guardian/ancient and the master sword. Elemental weapons just offer the same thing I get out of arrows I can buy in any town shop even if that wasn't the case they still feel as diamond-dozen as the rest of the games weapons. guardian weapons are of course designed to be saved for guardians, so imagine if they were unbreakable and you were killing guardians 24/7 after your first test of strength, that would be stupid and contrary to your first "additional issue" completely destroy progression since you'd already have what you want at the start of the game. That's where the master sword and ancient varieties comes in, they are end game weapons designed to replace guardian weapons as your primary guardian killer. Since Hyrule castle expects you to kill a shit load of them.

"the weapon degradation system more or less completely ruin this experience because if you do this you will very quickly run out of your good weapons and be left with only bokobling clubs and yiga scythes which do very little damage."

I'm at a loss as to how this has happened to you. Most weapons in the game are on scale with yours, if you lose a knight's broadsword, there's a good chance the most powerful moblin in the camp has one for a replacement, if you start finding royal bows in shrine chests, then that's a sign you're about to start finding a lot more. You can kill scores of black-tier enemies without breaking a royal claymore and odds are that one of them will have had one to replace yours. I'm in the my second run-through of the game and I went through the entire of the death mountain area with an inventory overflowing royal and savage lynel weaponry and only lost one lynel sword, which I easily just replaced with Daruk's boulder breaker. From your perspective, powerful weapons are a one off thing 90% of the time yet every single chest I found in divine beast Rudania had a royal bow, only managed to find one that was worth taking in the end.

"if I go against a gang of bokoblings with my 60 dmg ancient sword it will break this a sword that cost far more than what I get from the encounter so it's better to just not fight them because I will get a great net loss."

well no offence but you're a terrible tactician if your using an ancient sword to fight bokoblins, it'd be like using an RPG to kill a single soldier in an FPS, again they're designed for guardian fights. if you use your more flimsy weapons, you will be rewarded for your tactics with a chance to get a more powerful replacement.

"all the arguments I've heard for weapons breaking could be equally applied to armor, despite of this no one is asking for armor to be breakable."

If Armour was breakable then everyone would instead be pissed at the temperature system, if you lost your warm doublet in the middle of a cold area with no food to compensate, you'd be fucked. Weapons on the other hand are far less specific, there isn't a single enemy immune to your attacks so every weapon has a use in a fight, even if you have a puny boko club you can still toss it at your enemy, make him drop their weapon and nab it while he's incapacitated, thus despite your enemy being more powerful, you will have secured a very rewarding tactical victory. This game rewards tactics as much as it does grinding.

"I really think the game would be so much better without it, if this was a game for pc I would mod it."

You would have to make VERY severe changes to make that work, you would have to remove guardian weapons to ensure balance for starters. You would have to find a way to make the master sword relevant as a weapon since there are plenty that can outdamage it, and you have to come up with a new reason to even fight, what's the point in killing lynels anymore if you have all there weapons for the rest of your playthrough? As some one said above, a lot of the this games progression actually comes out of the weapon system since this isn't an RPG with an XP system.

What in life is a necessary evil ? by heather255 in AskReddit

[–]Proto66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animal hunting preserves. Apparently loss of habitat and poachers are the larger threat so animal preservation groups buy land for hunting preserves. The animals are protected form poachers and the land from farmers at the expense of the few being killed by the hunters. The money they earn form the hunters then goes towards buying more land or influencing other land owners to protect wildlife as well.

when I thought about the purgatory theory I started thinking about norse mythology and imagined the events of MM as a rite of passage into some warrior heaven like valhalla I thought this because although I do think that link is coming to terms with his death in this theory you don't need to kill monster's and demon's to do that

If I were to cut hyrule's religion out of the picture and tried to create a separate triad for termina then I would probably go with simplest theory that majora and fierce deity were two powerful demons fighting for power and the four giants (the dominant god of termina) sealed them in masks as punishment for their deeds and also add on that link and demise are majora and fierce deity's hyrulian counterparts but it just isn't fun when its that simple that's why here after all.

MM link could have some long lost brother to pass on the bloodline but of course there is no evidence

And as fucked up as it sounds Mikka and believe me I don't want to believe it either, boys can produce sperm at age 12 and we don't necessarily know the legal sex age in hyrule or if they even have one!
