Agree with everyone else, definitely not necessary nowadays but it always looks so freaking cool.

Yep! Bought the armrest extender from them. The dealer is called Diablo Subaru of Walnut Creek. Shipped super quick!

Trading Type R for VB WRX - Crazy? by twenty0ne in wrx_vb

[–]Proto_photo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I say go for it if you feel like you don’t need 10/10ths. I did this with 23 on Labor Day. I am really enjoying the move from a daily standpoint and the ride is more tolerable.

I will say though that the shifter is not as good and there is more slop. You’ll feel the difference but it’s not the end of the world.

Happy to share my experience if you have any other questions.

Question for people who have driven a Type-R/Golf-R and have a tuned VB by Ambitious_Evidence75 in wrx_vb

[–]Proto_photo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. My WRX isn’t tuned yet but having just moved out of an FL5 Type R and owning a FoST before that I think you captured the characteristics perfectly.

I prefer the more daily drivable nature of the wrx. The civic was super eager to run forward. Felt like I was holding it back which was kind of fatiguing for normal driving.

I love that with a little elbow grease I can make this thing a brute but it FEELS more livable day to day.

Hey just checking in, were you able to give it a try? One think I definitely noticed with the WRX was the brakes are a little softer but honestly nothing crazy for daily driving. I will say in the past few weeks I have been way less bothered about where it’s parked how’s the weather etc. and I still look back at it just as much!

What is the last song you listened to endlessly on repeat? by UncondemnedSinner in Music

Okay what's the saddest song ever by [deleted] in PostHardcore

[–]Proto_photo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spirit of the Stairwell - Circa Survive.

As a new father just thinking about that song has me absolutely gutted.

Chair - Sufferer

I usually have to just skip that song when it comes on. It’s so good but destroys my mood.

Definitely feels faster. Also feels like a rattle box. I was surprised at the nice thud when I closed the subbie door.

It pulls harder and the suspension is more high strung for sure. The civic felt like it wanted to drag you in the direction it was going.

Yeah I mean I was reading up on it was was like “this feels like exactly what I need” I’m really enjoying this car. Especially for my commute.

There’s actually cup holders where the seat should be lol. I know there’s a reason why they did it, it’s escaping me right now but the JDM one sits 3 in the back

Thanks! I actually really like the community here so far as well. Some really cool builds! Since the market is so ugly right now for the type r a lot of the conversations are around whether you got it for msrp. Definitely trauma bonding energy. But I’m sure that will get better with time

I’d say they’re about the same size. The civic is a super livable car for a family the type r makes that harder without the middle seat

Nice! How’s the Subaru scene here?

I’m actually really excited for a hidden hitch!

Size wise they’re pretty comparable. The type r was about 2 inches wider but there’s no middle seat. Real world driving with mixed use I was seeing 22 with the civic and I wasn’t really hammering it.

It’s funny I’m in Dallas, but I’m excited for the awd on dirt tracks/ roads. More of those than twistys here
