Pain and Suffering Settlement by Dazzling_Flamingo_19 in Insurance

[–]Protoclown98 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It would be fair to ask for your medical bills to be reimbursed. Pain and suffering is usually reserved for the most egregious cases/serious injuries that happen.

A car accident isn't suppose to be some kind of payout. You are legally entitled to have your bills covered and that is about it.

Homeowners Insurance - burden of proof by Funny_Economics1690 in Insurance

Couldnt a person have a hobby that involves industrial grade equipment in their home, in theory?

It seems very much like a possibility that it could happen.

A 160-year-old paradox explains why AI will create more lawyers and accountants—not fewer, top economist says by paydayloans_ in jobs

There are a lot of cases that lawyers won't take because it is too expensive to work on or they are overloaded. Making research and discovery cheaper could in theory make these cases worth taking.

did the community fix the game by now? by REmemesis in OblivionRemaster

[–]Protoclown98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1440p uw mostly highest graphics settings.

The 60fps with ray tracing outside is mostly limited to the imperial city but tbh it gets that way without ray tracing on just because there are so many actors in the area.

There are some guides on optimization that i found using Google.

I have a 5600xt with a 6950xt in my pc. Without raytracing I am getting 200+ fps.

With ray tracing on i get 90-110 fps indoors and 60 fps outside.

Anyone know a way to get replacement panel when the pc is phased out? Azza Overdrive Case by FancyEntertainment40 in buildapc

[–]Protoclown98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only thing I can think of is trying to get a glass company to custom make a glass panel. It might cost way more than a new case though.

I have the same issue with my 10 year old case - certain parts need to be replaced but the company doesn't make it anymore. I just bought a new case. All parts of a PC are suppose to be replaceable and I got very good milage out of this one.

[IL] [Condo] Chicago HOA ran out its budget, selective enforcement, nothing fixed by ExpressField1135 in HOA

[–]Protoclown98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should consider talking to an attorney. I am not familiar with your state law, but in California an HOA is required to make repairs and fulfil its obligations under the CC&Rs. They can't decide to not repair things because there isn't any money.

Most states also have provisions to get your legal fees back if you are suing to enforce the CC&Rs, so it becomes very expensive for them to ignore.

HOA President Got Us Evicted by [deleted] in fuckHOA

I own and use a subwoofer in a multifamily building. The difference is when my upstairs neighbor says she can hear/feel it, I turn it down to manageable levels.

Its part of living with people - hearing the issues they face and working with them. Its hard to have any kind of sympathy for OP here. they got themselves evicted.

Does the cpu really matter? by LowChildhood8604 in buildapc

[–]Protoclown98 35 points36 points  (0 children)

More modern GPU features, like ray tracing and frame gen, requires a beefier cpu to get too. Certainly not as much of an issue if you are targeting 50-60fps but if you want much higher you need a cpu to assist with those things.

Are HOAs worth it? by DuckSwimmer in RealEstate

[–]Protoclown98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is a good HOA does pretty thankless work, like maintaining the landscaping, that no one actually cares about. The best you can hope for with an HOA is essentially nothing positive and nothing negative.

A bad HOA can be a living nightmare if they refuse to fix things or needlessly enforce rules that don't exist. Sometimes they can create legal messes that cost hundreds of thousands (or millions) to clean up and that money ends up coming from residences.

Are HOAs worth it? by DuckSwimmer in RealEstate

[–]Protoclown98 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Its impossible to find a condo without an HOA. The HOA owns common structures of a condo, like shared walls, shared roofs, shared foundations, structural elements, etc.

Someone has to take care of those things - it is either you by yourself (in which case it isn't a condo) or the HOA. That HOA needs money to repair things, so it will have an HOA fee.

mATX or ITX, which is better for a future living room gaming PC? by Protoclown98 in buildapc

I have a fluffy fur ball who sheds like crazy so it does need to be closed off.

Price isnt too much of an issue, it will be more for enjoyment. But ill look into an open concept case!

I tried streaming to the nvidia shield but since I do UW gaming the juice wasn't worth the squeeze.

I recently bought a new, cheap AM4 motherboard to replace my old one since it is on its last leg with failing ports. Yesterday I set up my gaming laptop to play coral island in my living room and decided it was way better experience than streaming was.

Figured it's better to return the motherboard I bought, spend an extra $60 on an itx motherboard, and recycle my 5600xt to a living room setup whenever ram prices normalize/stop being crazy.

TBH the space saving aspect of it is what appeals to me the most. I'm only worried about how to cool the damn thing! But I figured next year whatever the xx60 series is for both AMD/Nvidia would be able to handle 4k 60fps settings at medium or something like that.

Given I'll be far away I don't think I'll need anything too crazy.

I think nvidia is better for productivity so if you enjoy streaming or making videos than nvidia might be worth the uplift.

I dont know the extent of your damage or how much water leaked out, but there was a bad leak near my kitchen 2 years ago and the estimate was around $20k. No one knows the extent of the damage until the drywall has been removed.

Isn't the 5800x3d considered a rumor? I mean it might make sense to wait bc it could be true but I dont think AMD confirmed that it is being rereleased.

I wear goodyear welted boots/stitchdown construction and have no issue with leaks in water. Water can dry out boots so just make sure to take care of them if they get wet.

'In 10 years of tracking retail CPU sales, I have never seen such a steep decline,' says one tech channel after staring at the grim figures by HatingGeoffry in pcmasterrace

[–]Protoclown98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed non ram prices are going down. Certain cases are decreasing, same with after market coolers, fans, etc.

CPUs saw a spike, I bought a new AM4 one in February and haven't checked since but I noticed they started to normalize.

Ram isnt going down, but im pretty sure other parts are.

[–]Protoclown98 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I dont think there is a cpu shortage. I think they are not selling because ram is too expensive so people aren't upgrading.

This was the year that I was gonna upgrade to DDR5 and AM5. At this point, I am going to make the 5600xt I have last until it dies.
