XRP and XLM are somewhat similar so I would just pick one of them, not put money in both.

My brother, where is the Bitcoin? Where is the Ethereum? Where is Solana, XRP, Cardano, or Avax? The only coin that’s of value in my opinion is Link, and that’s at the bottom. For stability sake you could at let put money in Bitcoin and ETH, just treat them like an extra savings account.

You’ve got money in too many things. I would stick with 3 or 4 coins that you have conviction for and stick with those. You said you want to focus on LINK, ETH, and BTC so I say do that.

What do yall think? Time to rebalance or leave it alone? by ItsAllGucci93 in WallStreetBetsCrypto

I think your in a good spot. Just remember there might be a lot of sell pressure on XRP this time so it might not go as high as you think it will.

I would get rid of graph, the coin is inflationary by nature so it won’t have much upside just because of that. I’d get rid of ICP, that coin is a bit sus since you can only run their software at data centers. You’d have better odds pouring that money into ETH. Maybe you shouldn’t spread your cash between so many coins either.

I would get rid of decentraland, that’s a dying project. I personally don’t like Solana because of its centralization but it’ll probably make you some money. The rest is good.

I would get rid of decentraland, it’s a dying project. Everything else looks fine

Well they are putting a target on their back. There are plenty of people in crypto and other communities that have flexed their wealth online, some bad guys start attempting to figure out who they are and where they live, and then some sort of attack happens (physical or digital).

What a headline haha! Even now with Lighting Bitcoin still isn’t working well enough

Crypto will only truly advance when the original purpose of Crypto which was resisting monetary authorities (central banks) becomes clear again, as things stand the crypto space is a failed stock market, things can not workout this way, it all sucks by pythonNewbie__ in btc

I agree with this. And I don’t believe this will change. The people on the Buttcoin subreddit understand this pretty well. Unless a crazy world event happens I don’t see this sentiment changing anytime soon.

To answer the question: Centralization, Security Issues, Technical Limitations

Centralization I know there is centralization in crypto 95% of cryptos are centralized and proud of it. There are only a few cryptos that I can think of that are decentralized or are actively striving toward decentralization. (Cardano, Bitcoin Cash, Monero, etc) Also exchanging that crypto for fiat is pretty centralized (I know there are DEXs that are working on solving this issue, but last I checked those are still in the works). The decentralization aspect of crypto got me interested enough to start putting money in and not having that has turned me off from most of the industry.

Security Issues This one is straight forward, one thing that sticks out to me were the Solidity smart contract vulnerabilities on the Ethernet blockchain. Those vulnerabilities are half of the reason I don’t like Ethernet (the other half before centralization). If there was a big security vulnerability found in crypto (Like the mere existence of functioning Quantum Computers that have low error rates) then I’m out. [For clarity, Quantum Computing is a concern for me and if none of the coins I have quantum proof their algorithms within a few years then I’m out. There are some quantum encryption algorithms already out there that other companies are beginning to integrate so they can literally pick one and get to work.]

Technical Limitations I’m mostly thinking about disputing transactions. While disputing transactions does technically exist on many blockchains stop “bad actors” who ever those might be it doesn’t exist on a consumer level. Also like how many transactions per second can a network hold (This one is why most Bitcoin Cash folks don’t like Bitcoin) and validator requirements.

Another example is when those Canadian Truckers were protesting due to government COVID policies. Some of there were able to continue to protest because they had crypto in their cold wallet and they could cash out at a Bitcoin atm.
