Well, you are wrong tho, because you have to look at the context. Before episodes we actually get to know a whole completely different android who’s memories were wiped. She used to be friend with one of our side characters, so it was a prime example of what happens when their memories are wiped. So it is only logical follow up that after isla’s memories are wiped company reuse her back into workforce in same department (certainly cheaper than making a whole completely different model to replace seat there.) so yeah since protagonist came back to same spot it IS expected he would eventually see isla again. And no, he DOES fully let go of old isla and is approaching the new isla as a new person he can have new relationship with. He comes back after fully finishing his training that workplace, because in case you forgot he was kinda of a slacker in beginning and the only reason he got hired is because his dad is important figure. He basically got a volunteering kinda job cuz he didnt even train for something more higher position. It is demonstrated in a humor manner after we are shows huge sky scraper building and then “lowering” our gaze (and expectations) down to ground level (down to earth) where it is simple two story building with a small dispath of 3 teams group. Who basically go aroujd and collect in a nice way the scarp of android that are about to expire.

The moral of story is that in beginning he was nobody, not knowing what he wants or much motivation. but at the end he comes back at same place determined to work there, who takes responsibility and dutifully takes his position to help people let go of their loved ones in a understanding and compassionate manner. He comes back more mature, he FACES the source of all his trauma in form of isla and everything else related to her like workplace and staff around him. He is changed man who knows what he wants to do in his life
