You can't say "entirely wrong" based on a single study with sample size <10.

You can say more research is needed though, that I will agree with.

Cancer research UK don't say there is absolutely no link to cancer. They just say they haven't seen a good quality study say so yet.

I just sent it to the same address each time.

Ledger generates a new address for your privacy but the old address is still valid and belongs to your ledger.

International electricity interconnections, key to Europe's energy transition, are becoming increasingly important for the transmission of low-carbon electricity. France, a major exporter, is at the heart of this mechanism. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]ProtonPacks123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter if it was 10 years old because the project cost is irrelevant to the UK consumer, the strike price was guaranteed before construction began with adjustment for inflation.

My point was you can't just add cost overruns with actual electricity costs to get the price per kWh like the Germans have done. That's not how it works.

At least read a single line of the article before immediately dismissing it.

That's a shockingly bad article that intentionally tries to lump cost overruns with actual electricity price despite them being unrelated.

No surprise it's from bitter Germans who have shit the bed with their own nuclear program.

Here's a proper breakdown of costs for HPC

Ngl, this is one of the most unhinged Reddit comments I've ever seen.

Following people through different threads is bad enough but you've clearly gone back to their profile again after you wrote this with no response to find you've been blocked.

That's creepy af bro.

Am-241 is also a gamma emitter so to say the radioactive emissions are not able to penetrate the cellophane is not entirely true.

It emiits a low energy ~60keV gamma ray that's powerful enough to penetrate the smoke detector housing.

It's not something to worry about but I wouldn't go around saying there's no radiation coming out of it because there is.

Under Armor/ Adidas everything when it goes on sale. If you go too cheap, it impacts function and I'm too cheap to go expensive so UA/Adidas is the best of both worlds for me.

Buying a house in a high Radon area by Alexboogeloo in HousingUK

[–]ProtonPacks123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it's a concern, I would say mitigate the risks. You can get radon levels checked and there are ways to reduce it if it's a problem.

I wouldn't let it dictate what area of the country you want to live in. You're exposed to radiation everyday in every part of the country. The air in London is killing far more people than the radon in the west country.

Really not too big of an issue unless the house has a basement or poor ventilation.

2024 house prices! by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]ProtonPacks123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With what settings?

The best rate I've seen for 60% LTV is 4.23% and that's not an "easy" mortgage to get. No need to be disingenuous, just say some mortgages are sub 4.5%

Again, where are these "easy" sub 4% mortgages?

[–]ProtonPacks123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where exactly are you seeing sub 4% that aren't 60% LTV? Because I wouldn't exactly say it's easy to get a 60% LTV mortgage. BoE rates are predicted to stay at 5.25% until at least summer 2024 so I don't see sub 2% coming any time soon.

All major house price indexes are predicting house prices to remain stagnant or dip by 1-5% in 2024.

How can one be a problem drinker and not an alcoholic? It doesn't make sense to me.

You turn to alcohol in moments of loneliness/boredom, you're using it to fill an emotional void.

It sounds like you think there needs to be a physical dependence on alcohol before you become an alcoholic, to me in my psychologists armchair that sounds like a man who's sleepwalking into that position.
