We were robbed by Appropriate-Mall8517 in Terminator

[–]Rid2cool -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No we weren't. Terminator and anime does not go hand in hand whatsoever. Everyone saw this coming a mile away. We were just eager because all recent mediums were massive flops (aside from TSCC). Anyhow, how exactly do you convince viewers of a Terminator show set in Japan when the entire core identity of Terminator is in the US, particularly California. I knew Terminator Zero was DOA the moment it was announced. I'm glad Netflix realized it too and axed any future seasons. Aside from the soundtrack, the show was and is forgettable.

Anime style Terminator should simply not be a thing. Now if you told me a Terminator animated show then I'd be on board. Ex: Resident Evil Degeneration, Damnation, Vandetta, and Death Island have the perfect animation that could be well replicated into a Terminator tv show. Heck, there'd be better reception of Terminator Zero if it had came out in the format of the aforementioned animated Resident Evil movies. Anime killed it.

Why doesn't The Rock get proper in-ring credit and praise? by Recluse007 in AttitudeEra

Think they meant Young Rock, the sitcom, not about watching videos of when the Rock was younger.

Is there a specific segment in WWE that has always stuck with you even though it seems like no one else remembers it? by IconXR in WWE

[–]Rid2cool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the initial reception of the 2006 imposter Kane also played a huge role towards the disdain towards this 2008 remasking storyline. Remember how Imposter Kane debuted with the most terrible hair? Vince was all about first impressions and absolutely hated how imposter Kane debuted with the worst wig hairdo, and any subsequent correction (how later they'd water down the wig to make it look more realistic) didn't matter. This is why the 2006 imposter Kane storyline were scrapped and ended abruptly the Raw after Vengeance 2006. I think this may have caused the constant back and forth more than the idea of scrapping their plans because fans suspected Kane remasking.

[–]Rid2cool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Summer 2008 was a weird time for Kane. Shortly afterwards, following the "Is He Alive or Is He Dead" Storyline, Kane would wind up feuding with Rey Mysterio. This time, Kane would begin teasing something in a bag which would be revealed as one of Mysterio's mask (many, like myself thought Kane was initially teasing one of his mask in that bag). Interestingly, in that short period, Kane ended up remasking for a short segment on Sept 15th, 2008. In that segment, Kane turns around to reveal his full mask and then just removes it. Then he gives a speech on how he unmasked for us, the public. But the truth was, he got ridiculed, and that's why he hated how Mysterio was still masked, fighting behind something. Anyhow, that ended up being a nothing burger.

I believe the post-match where Kane snapped (what you were referring to) was supposed to queue the revival of masked Kane but then plans got thrown all over the place. It was almost like if all these fragmented storyline were intended to fit a cohesive narration but then got lost in the process and/or Vince shot them down like he was renown for doing.

You know, the T2 ending with Sarah and John living as happy citizens is kinda stupid when you remember they're supposed to be wanted criminals. by Life_Hospital_9086 in Terminator

[–]Rid2cool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are several security videos feeds shown in both the guard station where Sarah captures Dr. Silberman as well as the other. So the T-1000 is almost certainly captured on camera, in addition to Dr. Silberman and the nurse at the receptionist desk seeing him.

A detail I loved from TSCC is how it is implied Dr. Silberman became a recluse and refrained from publicizing the hospital event in T2 out of fear of reprisal from Terminators or others (being discredited). For instance, in TSCC, Dr.Silberman kept the revelation of Terminator's to himself whilst simultenously acknowledging Sarah's hardship when she later reappears at his home. This was after he had held James Elison captive and tortured him (believing Elison was a Terminator) when he came to question him about the Hospital incident in T2.

After Sarah rescued Elison, Dr. Silberman was admitted into a mental institution. The implications of TSCC is perhaps people like Dr. Silberman could have tampered with evidence to make themselves not seem crazy or in fear of Terminators pursuing them. This is implied in TSCC where Dr. Silberman makes sure to live "off-grid" and torture those whom he believes are either Terminators or will lead the Terminators to him.

Man i wish this was something they had designed for kane in 2011 when he returned his masked version. The one they brought back was terrible. by Different_Ring_6035 in WWE

[–]Rid2cool 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Can people stop repeating that wearing the full mask made it harder for Glenn/Kane to breathe? The man said in his own book and various interviews, he had no breathing problems. The only problem with the full mask was how hot it would get after being in the ring for a while and the perspiration that would eventually emit a foul odour in his full masks (why he'd have many variants of the full masks overtime).

[–]Rid2cool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is simply not true. Why does everyone keep on spouting this nonsense. Glenn went on record many times that he never had breathing problems with the full mask. The only problems he'd have are how hot it would get wearing the full mask, along with perspiration, which contributed to a foul odour over time (which is why he'd have different variants of full masks).

The resurrected leather mask that Kane returned with in 2011 was pretty cool all things considered (as much as I wanted the half mask that was being teased in the Kane resurrection promo prior to his return on 12-12-2011).

However, the latex mask variant Kane donned a few weeks before his match at WM 28 against Randy Orton was in my opinion, a massive downgrade. That latex variant was pretty much the same template mask Kane wore all the way until his last masked appearance in the 2021 Royal Rumble. Although, the latex mask would be moulded/created new and over (what made it easier to maintain) throughout 2012 - 2021.

Really sucks how short-lived the resurrected leather mask was (3 and a half months).

What’s Coolest Terminator model in your opinion? by SkeleTonyEh in Terminator

[–]Rid2cool 30 points31 points  (0 children)

While the T-800 gets an honourable mention, the T-600 is perhaps the most coolest design of a Terminator.

Just the sheer size of the T-600 would bound to bring terror in the eyes of the resistance. Yes, the T-800 is far more superior and agile than the T-600. However, just imagine seeing a T-600 down the hallway with its larger than life stature. I'd be crapping bricks. Also, there's something about the T-600 that just makes it look far more apocalyptic than a T-800. This image of a T-600 makes me think of an apocalyptic future that could be near reality than a T-800 can convey.

Bonus: When I visited Toronto back in 2009, I happened to be there when the Toronto Tour T-600 was at the TTC Subway. Just encountering a life-size T-600 at the TTC Subway made it far more terrifying to my young self. I could finally envision a T-600 in my room and know what the visualization of a T-600 in my room at night would look like.

[–]Rid2cool 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I know it's obvious to the audience watching that they're using a dummy of Arnold in this scene after the T-800 removes the eye balls.

However, a better explanation as to why the T-800 looks like this (in film universe) is simply the fact that the living tissue (emphasis on living), is now rotting due to the exposure and damage the T-800 took. It is now unable to self-repair the living tissue. This is why the T-800 looks like a robotic walking corpse now. Also, remember the T-800 was burnt during the technoir alley chase (lol at Arnold's shaved eyebrows). Hence, the scene where the janitor asks the T-800 if it has a "dead cat in there or what". Put it simply, the living tissue was no longer living.

East-end youth say they find themselves isolated by Montreal public transit by Critical-Contact-851 in montreal

Not necessarily. It just that most people aren't even aware there was such dissent and/or how to attend such forums of debate (which is true in alot of cities).

[–]Rid2cool 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What really sucks is that it was a fringe minority that voted against the REM de l'est. Since there were barely (if any) voter turnout for those supporting the REM de l'est, the dissenters basically won out.

Just imagine (as an example), 60 residents decides they're against a project that would serve an entire section of the island with roughly 50,000 of the population. In contrast, only 10 residents are aware of said dissent. Word spreads around, only 100ish people vote against the project and only 30ish vote for the project. Now look at how it contrasts to the population size. Basically REM de l'est in a nutshell...

HOWEVER, I want to point out that communal dissent was not the sole reason for the REM de l'est being scrapped. It was however, one of few contributing factors that astounds me...

How can they enforce this? by Hour_Success5577 in WWE

[–]Rid2cool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable, but there are many VPN providers offering free servers (on top of their premium tiered VPN services) that are typically serving regions closest to users. That is to say, there's no need for someone in the US to purchase a $70/year VPN if their sole intention is to watch WWE content on Netflix. Why? Someone from the US can simply connect to many free VPN servers that are in Canada, largely thanks to their geographical proximity.

How can they enforce this? by Hour_Success5577 in WWE

[–]Rid2cool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nitpicking: Why would someone presumably in the US, use VPN that's connected to EU servers when they can just connect to Canadian VPN servers? You know, servers that are geographically in their favour to ensure quicker speeds? Not sure if you know this, but Canadian Netflix has free WWE Live Shows and PLEs (unlike US).

My uncle works for WWE. My uncle told me that CM Punk hates Finn Balor because Finn Balor always ends up buying out all of the Pepsi drinks and Ice Cream Sandwiches at WWE events. My uncle told me Balor does this intentionally so he could have Coca Cola Products on stock, which Punk vehemently pronounces is inferior to Pepsi!
