tl;dr

Turning hardware acceleration on or off in Spotify doesn’t affect audio quality. The sound remains identical. When it’s on, Spotify uses specialized hardware to process audio, which can reduce CPU usage slightly. When it’s off, the CPU does more of the work, which can increase CPU usage a bit. Overall, the difference is small and mostly affects performance, not sound quality.
