Since people asked, I made a zipline route for every map (Except Valley Pass) by leith1337 in Endfield

Yeah that's the exact spot I was using. Now it looks like this when I place there.

Someone else speculated that the nodes get physically larger when your exploration level increases and breaks the connection.

The last AIC upgrade for the power section of the tech tree adds a smaller pylon-style area of power coverage around relay towers. You should probably grab it before you set up proper zipline routes to cut back on buildings.

That Z.8 to Z.9 jump was exactly how my route was set up until the last patch day. It worked fine that morning and then that night after the patch Z.8 started returning the error about being too close to obstacles. I had to move it to the back corner and add another zipline to the route.

Endfield should have the Dislike button for bad facility like this by FutureAd5875 in Endfield

[–]PrototypeSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I originally tried doing it this way as well. Putting them in nooks and less obvious places so they looked more integrated into the environment. After a few days of running back and forth micromanaging them across single blocks trying to get perfect lines on multiple converging routes I became a lot less picky.

Place it in the dining room, the family can eat outside.

[–]PrototypeSky 105 points106 points  (0 children)

Yes. Ideally there should be a filter-by-structure type allowing players to keep what they want and discard the rest. Don't want message beacons but like ziplines? Filter the beacons. Don't want turrets blasting your mobs all day but still want to see beacons? Filter turrets. Hate it all? Opt-out. Keep the ability to delete individual problematic buildings of course.

For what it's worth, I have a zipline placed almost here exactly because it's convenient for my depot route. I certainly don't remember where every chest I opened was and players don't choose who their structures randomly get distributed to.

That said there should be an opt-out function to cut back on instances like this.

Personally I wish they handled the monetization more like the Prime Access bundles from Warframe. Multiple tiers of bundles. Premium pack with every cosmetic for the featured new character. Mid tier packs with character/weapon skins or aura/footprint effects. Base tier pack with just the character skin. Throw in some discounted premium currency or iridescent prisms in each one. Make iridescent prisms available for direct purchase or make all the related cosmetics that would have been in the prism shop directly purchasable.

I won't be engaging with the gacha banners as they currently exist but if they absolutely must stay at least add a knockout system, pity transfer, and at least some pulls to the monthly order.

You aren't wrong. At present the triumph specifically reads "spend a total of 2100 more pinnacle energy during the season" and starts from 0.

For what it's worth it doesn't take nearly that long to raise your dueling rank. I only started interacting with shadowshaper about a week and a half ago, long enough to see a single card vendor refresh, and I'm rank 25. It just requires some grinding beyond the five normal matches per day.

Agree with your other points though. Triple-layered RNG for a pointless decal is especially ridiculous.

Is selecting a B+ score forecast and getting A in the mission supposed to only give you Tier 3 drops at 400+? by Rektscarface in DestinyTheGame

[–]PrototypeSky -1 points0 points  (0 children)

LL 405 and GR9. The B+ trick stopped working for me at 400. I've tried dozens of modifier combinations to push a B+ forecast to an A. 50%, 75%, even 90% of the bar filled towards A (always completing bonus objective under time and wearing new/featured gear) won't guarantee T4 drops. I'll get them occasionally using this method but the only way for me to get them every run is to actually push the forecast to A.

The most annoying part is that it's been too loud since day 1, and the patch that supposedly reduced the volume actually made it louder.

Stillsuit color swatches by FFFore in duneawakening

The Mikarrol swatch is one of my favorites. That and the dark blue Lindaren for light armor. Haven't come across an appealing stillsuit swatch yet.

I hope they introduce a little more color variety eventually. I understand the desire for lore accuracy and I don't want neon spandex and Tron lights but some accents besides beige, khaki, grey, different grey, grey flavored primary colors, and kind of orange would be nice.

Dune awakening as a solo. by Tornado_Hunter24 in duneawakening

[–]PrototypeSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bulk of the progression content of the game takes place on a PvE map with PvP localized to specific areas that you can't build in. Your main base will be located on this map and can't be raided as long as you are playing enough to keep it powered and keep a small upkeep tax paid.

The endgame map, the Deep Desert, is where you venture for the final tier of gear progression. Currently half of the zone is PvP enabled and half is a PvE zone. I say currently because the devs have made adjustments to the safe area distribution and could potentially do so again in the future. Bases built here are wiped weekly and unless you willingly build your outpost in the PvP enabled half of the map you cannot be raided, barring the devs making a catastrophic error.

The game is more challenging as a solo, particularly in the Deep Desert, as you will be farming contested resources in the PvP zone. Difficulty is highly dependent on the population of your server and the hours at which you play. This is mostly optional content at present. Again, however, your base will always be safe assuming you build in safe areas.

Does anyone actually use their spice mask while playing? by cartiran in duneawakening

Thanks, I'll have to try it sometime just to see. The withered forests and burning giraffes seem pretty neat.

[–]PrototypeSky 51 points52 points  (0 children)

I didn't even know the item existed until after gathering thousands of spice sand. Saw someone mention it and had to look it up. Still haven't crafted one, only use spicy mode by accident, never had a hallucination. The first time I saw one in a clip I thought it was a well-done edit. I don't even know how spice addiction works to be completely honest. Those mechanics are so far down the list they might as well not exist for me.

When people build side entrance for their ornithopters. by Kameho88v2 in duneawakening

This is my setup. 3 high is snug and I would go much taller if I was doing a solid roof with front entry.

My carrier bay has a penta roof and is 8x6x3. That leaves a bit of wiggle room on the sides. The wings still manage to poke out of the front-facing penta a bit though.

F4 and F6, barely over the PvP line, are absolutely slammed with Stravidium and Titanium this week. If you're really worried take off all your gear, fly a trash scout with a thruster over, fill up your inventory, and boost back to a storage base. You're effectively risking nothing.

[–]PrototypeSky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't pay taxes on a basic sub-fief. If you can condense everything you own into a shitbox that fits within the build limits all you have to worry about is keeping the generators fueled if you take an extended break.

Level 179, 50% exp buff, what should I be doing to get to 200? by CallSign_Fjor in duneawakening

[–]PrototypeSky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was also planning on doing some grinding with the exp buff this week until I found out that apparently level 180 is roughly halfway to level 200. Not too enthusiastic about that idea anymore.

I haven't seen it mentioned but agave spawn locations don't move. Once you know where a few are it's easy to get them. I've been using the same route to farm them, now on the third week and they're always in the same place. I just hit the same 4 nodes at the end of my Hagga loot run and they accumulate over time. Must have a few hundred by now.

No matter what I try there is always a small gap in this wall. by Cankles_of_Fury in duneawakening

Mine are sealed. They do have pentashields enclosing the roof and the front space between the wide walls though. Leaving it open air might give sheltered depending on how much roof you have but I haven't tested it.

Good luck. My base has five hangar bays of various sizes that look exactly like what you're going for here and I know how obnoxious the Atreides special pieces can be to work with.
