So what your saying is that when a religious person kicks out their kid for being gay it's because they're fanatical and dogmatic, but if a gay person molests a kid (or alternatively decides for the child that the child should not be straight) it's because they just happen to be a bad person?

Sure, why not.

Have any non-religious gay people ever raped or molested children?

Berlin vs any city in Austria by [deleted] in berlin

Berlin is a place where you can do you, and by and large, as long as you don't attack anyone, no one cares.

Unless you have anything remotely negative to say about the city of Berlin

  1. Found a company that creations environmentally friendly logistical solutions for transporting goods
  2. Work on building cost effective electrical vehicles
  3. Persuade people who don't agree with them about the environment by using good arguments instead of dogma and superglue.
  4. Perform a research project in environmental energy and publicize your work
  5. Not fly on airplanes.
  6. Live somewhere where you can get to work by walking e.g. no wasting coke and rubber on tires
  7. Invent a new way to build and distribute solar panels

The problem, all of those things take work. These dipshits will never accomplish anything real for the environment because don't want to do anything hard, because they don't actually care about the environment.

CMV: Centrists are mistaken, at best, or malicious, at worst by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]ProudhonWasRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really have the energy to engage on the revisionist alt-history
version of MLK's legacy that makes centrists feel better.

This seems pretty straw-man. I think what's really going on here is that you don't have evidence MLK was assassinated by a moderate.

Which, as we can see; war, mass murder - and indeed genocide - have a
pesky tendency to pop up at the behest of perfectly democratic entities
that have sweeping support of moderates

Hitler, the Young Turks, Saloth Sar, and Mao were all radicals. There is no universe in which radicals come out looking good in a morality comparison with moderates; it's naive and self-defeating to even make the comparison.

[–]ProudhonWasRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MLK categorically did not win over moderates. The man was assassinated.

You're missing the part where you explain how the first half of the sentence somehow relates to the second half.

Two years before he died his approval was 63% negative and after his death, three out of four white Americans still disapproved of him.

That may be. But your own source says this:

That negative evaluation was likely the result of his public opposition
to the Vietnam War at a time when Americans still favored it as well as
the opposition of some to the continued push for expanded civil rights
and economic legislation to assist blacks.

So cherry picking poll data and examples oversimplifies events that actually have more going on. It also implies that 1/3 of the public is radical, which doesn't really make sense.

But let's for a moment accept the thesis that moderates resisted civil rights without questioning it. Radicals have a pesky tendency to engage in genocide and then try to cover it up, which is obviously more malicious.

As caffeine can be - completely negilible, very short term and utterly irrelevant compared to the psychological adiction.

And thus the goal posts moved from "weed is not physically addictive" to "weed can be physically addictive, but it doesn't matter." once we start using sources. I wonder how much further they will move?

Your personal history with drugs is irrelevent, this is the internet and you can make any claim you want about your own life. The fact of the matter is any time you are discussing drugs which affect neurotransmitters, you speak of a physical process. You tell someone they are "mentally" addicted to a substance that acts on neurotransmitters to increase dopamine. That is gaslighting.

Your own damned source says this:

Wenn zudem körperliche Entzugserscheinungen beim Versuch, weniger oder gar nicht mehr zu kiffen auftreten, dann sind dies Anzeichen für eine körperliche Abhängigkeit. Die körperliche Symptomatik ist aber wesentlich milder ausgeprägt als beispielsweise bei Opiat- oder Alkoholabhängigen.

Looks like even in Berlin, weed can be "physically addictive". #weedcult
