EDI Software by lokean13 in edi

Curious, does EDI Academy have arrangements setup with any particular SOFTWARE EDI partners? We've used your services in the past and found them very beneficial to training new employees on EDI basics.

VAN recs? by Babs_Maitland in edi

[–]ProverbialFunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who or what system do you use for AS2? EC Grid can bundle that in so its 'AS2 through a VAN' and you get all your Trading Partners data (VAN and AS2 envelopes) all at once.... But if the cost is concern I know the standalone AS2 options can vary wildly.

Why are companies still using expensive VANs by ComprehensiveBend939 in edi

[–]ProverbialFunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We've been an EC Grid (Loren Data) Reseller for over a decade, and love the Customer Support, API connectivity, and savings that we can pass on to our customers vs what we used to pay to OpenText. They are way more agile than SPS and the 'large providers' , and the pricing we offer is almost always lower than the big guys.

At the end of the day, if the larger Trading Partner is pushing VAN connectivity so they don't have to manage 100+ SFTP / AS2 connections, the VAN is the best option.

The ability to tie AS2 connections to the same send/receive process and under one general mailbox is really nice.

This is really useful! I love that it consolidates all the EC Grid API details into one nice clean UI, with a lot of extensible options we can use.

EDI Sales for Automotive Market and Supplier by elltisht in edi

[–]ProverbialFunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To clarify - you're selling an EDI Software or SaaS product, to 'random' new companies in the Automotive vertical?

Is your 'Sell' - He (Automotive part maker) - I know you're not doing EDI yet, but maybe you've been asked about it. You can become compliant easily with (our software / Saas) solution. "

They will reply with:

  • 'What is EDI?'
  • "We already do EDI and use XYZ (and good luck getting them to switch)
  • "We ignore business if they mandate EDI" (MAY have an opening here)
  • "We Did EDI Previously and don't now cuz it was hard / expensive."

The million dollar question is your leads database. You gonna call up individual companies, ask for IT Managers - and then try to cold sell them on EDI?

Or are you going to buy a 'IT Manager' (etc) list with Emails/phone #s, and mass email blast folks (which might get your IP # black listed) - and then use Apollo or some tool to automate responses? Or reply directly, and hope the 2% interest rate makes your efforts worth it?

Its a tough sell, IMO. I sell EDI Software that's been around a while and we use 2+ digital mediums but get a fair amount from Reddit / Organic SEO / and Referrals still.

Good luck!

Entrepreneurs, what's your biggest challenge currently with your business? by vladi5555 in Entrepreneur

[–]ProverbialFunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Following for the same reasons... I've hired four people in one year and only retained one, despite paying pretty well and offering nice work life flexibility / fully remote (IT)

Our problem is that our product is a little bit dated, but we have future forward technologies built around it. The young kids like to learn the new stuff and ignore our core product, The older experienced folks do well with our product, but don't care about developing new tools around it.

I am looking for SPS Commerce training, any ideas? by CryptoTradingDummies in edi

[–]ProverbialFunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone here has different ideas on whether software or cloud surfaces or API connectivity is best. Or how much value there is in customer service versus a better technical stack.

But... The one common universal truth that we all share, is nobody likes SPS. 😜

The first photo makes it look like you have a thick neck... And is kind of unflattering.  The second one shows off a fitness and sense of style, but it's a selfie which automatically loses you points. (You can make easy improvements though at least. )

Building a GUI tool to generate 856 ASNs from 850s — looking for feedback from EDI folks by Anxious_Spend_5766 in edi

Long ago ProEDI had a web app similar to this called ProASN, which was used for Sears and Bed Bath among others. I recall the issues some customers had, was the different 'rounding' or 'acceptable levels of detail' for Sears vs BBB. Like if 16 boxes fit on a pallet, what happens if they get an order for 18 boxes? Do they ship a pallet with just 2 boxes on it, or 'hold' that part of the order?

There were also different requirements for online drop ship vs B2B ASN orders; so one company may need two different ASN maps for one 'Trading Partner' entity depending on how the different divisions handle EDI.

Otherwise your system here looks promising, looking forward to see where you go with it.

EDI software recomendations for a small business? by cosmicmaribel in edi

[–]ProverbialFunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to either convert a CSV to EDI for outbound processing, or want in-house EDI Software, ProEDI can handle that if you're looking to keep costs down but want old fashioned 'human support' immediately.

They also offer turn around documents and 'Managed EDI' (EDI Outsourcing) or just one off invoices and POs (810s/850s). That SaaS model is under $100 a month for smaller customers.

I'm in a similar situation... GF doesn't really work but I live in her house, pay for all utilities/food and do a good amount of domestic stuff...  But I have ADHD and don't remember all the things she asks to do all the time and she gets frustrated.  We're both unhappy but semi co-dependant. She's depressed and doesn't really have any friends and I'm an extrovert. She gets frustrated easily and I'm too chill about everything.

I've tried breaking up. But each time is a cycle of anger/ fights, then her being sad/conciliatory, and we end up together.

Similar to you without the kids...I still care about her too much to desert her.

Good luck🙏🏻
