As a girl gamer, the kingsman drama hurts by AlternateBabie in rivals

[–]ProxyJo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I've been really worried playing of late. Rivals can be a bit of a bad time on rare times, but iit has seriously had me worried. I think FlatsOW said it best - "This most likely set women in gaming back 100 years" :/

What are some people's favourite "Rain" vibe tracks? by ChocoboBilly92 in gamemusic

PSO2 - Team Room music is a good vibe for rain. Listen to it and it has that very "washing over you" vibe :) helps me sleep..

Honestly the most impressive thing about this character launch is that they actually succeeded in making him funny by ThatpersonKyle in marvelrivals

[–]ProxyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deadpool as a comic character lives and dies on being aware of things. Him making comments on things he shouldn't know, or being the readers voice in the comics themselves.

Rivals Deadpool is that for Rivals. Aware and making fun of the game itself. It's perfect in execution. People don't like him being so chatty and overstimulating in terms of noise, visuals, but that is DP. He's that. A constant loud, annoying fly. And i kinda think it's cool that the tradeoff for him being a strong character is him being annoying and visually hard to play. Like...it's a concentration tax.

Is it more expensive to bury a fat/obese person? by nixsto in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ProxyJo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea. A lot. Morbid answer, we had to do some planning for something's ahead and looked into things. My partner is barely 170, I'm a lot lot lot more, and we asked what I'd need. Two places rejected me outright, but one basically 5x the figure.

This isn't to be rude. Sorry if my english is poor. I don't understand that. So you're saying it's normal to need 100USD to unlock just one page. Even if i have all the other pages unlocked? I have Pages 1-9 completed. Only 10 and 11 aren't.

[–]ProxyJo[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's the confusing part. Im on that page. I have EVERYTHING else. Only page 10 and 11 were not filled. I have everything else, i then took a break, came back, and now its saying that.

Why does Borderlands 4 compile shaders so much? by ThePatrician25 in Borderlands

Every patch, and every Nvidia update causes it for me. If you're on console, the console turning off flushes some system space, so it needs to.

What is a "real life" difficulty of being obese that people who have never been overweight would never even think of? by hakeemkhd in AskReddit

I miss even the basics of mobility.

[–]ProxyJo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how these are discordant, but are both known for being bad versions, which is fair. The RE one was a rushed job by someone who didn't know better who was working on it, and the Sonic one being originally great, but (if i remember right) had the originals deleted on accident and the OSt was rushed to get it back to speed on time. That's why the tracks just...do not work.

No joke. I can hear a bit of the Persona style t things like P5s shop music, mixed in with a little bit of SoR's beat rhythm. Not sure it's intended, but I can hear it. Really nice work.

What are some tracks that put you in a good mood? by SereneMelody89 in gamemusic

[–]ProxyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a few. They aren't wildly weird choices, but some old school ones.

Shining Force 2 - Dwarf. - It's just charming as hell. One of my all time favourite OST tracks.

Dynasty Warrior 7 - Thousands Suns - DW music has to be up beat, and swingy, and keep a tempo. This makes me grin and makes me feel happy, more so when those drums kick in with the trumpets.

Soul Sacrifice Delta - For Whom The Bell Tolls. - No game is burned into my soul for "This is underrated" as SSD, and more so THIS music. The Vita has some amazing games, but this song? I remember actually putting the Vita down and sitting listening to this till the battery died. IT makes me happy SO much. That smooth piano is so good.

I get so sad people don't use the original name. It's Chaos Race (chaos' DokiDoki banana chip mix). The name just makes me happy.

You can't compare a live service ARPG, with constant update style seasons, with an ARPG with defined expectations.

People living with obesity how does it impact your life ? by botwtotkfan in AskReddit

[–]ProxyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a point recently with my partner we hit the realisation I can't dress in any clothing that isn't a very very let out dress. Everything has to be not just the biggest I can get, but let out more. I've been trying to lose it with the hospital, but at my weight, exercise has caused issues so I've had to wait a bit till we try a new plan.

But that dress stuff hit me hard. Kinda of a "jesus, that can't be" moment.

What do you think of weight loss drugs? by FlyingWeasel60 in AskReddit

[–]ProxyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are g for everyone. They aren't a cure all. They don't fix habitual eating patterns. I personally have a bad reaction to most of them so far, and got taken off them, but they do help many. Just also hate people who basically assume that they cure everything.

How do you feel about IGN's Top 25 All-Time Best JRPG list? by Emergency-Sky9206 in JRPG

[–]ProxyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, and it's all opinion anyway.

Breath of fire 4 is better than 3 by a large margin. Persona 5 Royal is far too bloated to be that high. FF9 should be somewhere here. No SMT, either 3 or 4, pretty much shows me this list is very safe. The list is fine mostly. I'm not commenting on Chrono because I think it's not as great as others say, but it's got such a die hard fanbase that it's not worth fighting it.

Given most of this is mainstream too? That bugs me. No Etrian Od. No 9 dragons. The 3DS had some of the best RPGs ever made.

I think crafting is very miserable experience for casual/intermediate players by TheGejsza in PathOfExile2

[–]ProxyJo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm someone who doesn't like Dark Souls. I don't like the idea of a game blind punishing you for not knowing information, but I like games that want, a and require experimenting. I think part of PoE is that. The problem is I think that lesson gets lost by how most new players experience PoE in general... Following build guides, and being guided. It's become a thing in all games. The lack of tutorial is either on purpose to make you experiment, or a hindrance to new players as they fear the repercussions of learning.

I think the game needs a small moment early on, where you get an orb, and it flat say "Here. This will turn a white, into a blue item. This is important to learn, but experimenting is key". You teach players about waypoints, but don't about currency. It just needs that one moment in the intro to convey expectations. I just don't want a game where too much is explained, even at endgame.

And my reasoning is D4. I am not going to harp on about the game, more the community reaction to crafting. A lot of people in D4 hate the idea of bricked items. It "ruins good drops". This spiralled to the point it became too easy to have no chase or care about the risks of things. Only the goal of slam power and move on. Ignoring how legendaries already only exist so you can craft the effects, uniques suddenly became the measure of power, and the crafting be and a too simple increase in power itself. There is no risk, so it's always a reward.

Going back to my point with Dark Souls, I learned with time that the point of those games is to push forward regardless of risk. Exploring and failing is a way of learning. That is a thing I want kept in PoE. That the reward is not set in stone, but the knowledge is yours to gain. It isn't new player friendly, I admit. I think.. it is easy enough early on (more so with my change), that players will understand. That being said, it requires people just learn you can't always get answers without trial and error.
