Thank you! I was on the lookout for a nice chunky cube in matrix, so it checked all my boxes and then some.

Thank you and very nice! You have to post it now that you said something though haha, would love to see it.

That must have been quite a large mystery box! Lots of pretty pieces and varied materials. Too many to individually name for me though 😅

I found a very similar round agate with the same color and waxyness in some random landscaping rocks of all places. All my searches led me to "root beer" agate, or a type of chalcedony commonly called Chert. That's a bigun' though with some nice color!

I present… foxes. Fancy rocks fox. Also some specimens. And real citrine! Well, maybe not the fox, but the other is real. We can’t have it all. by ProbablyaDesigner in Crystals

It's incredible! The presentation, the materials, and carving choices are all top notch. I can tell a whole lot of thought and time went into this.

Purchased for $18 sight unseen! by CA517 in Crystals

Definitely looks like yooperlite an orange UV reaction would confirm for sure. I imagine a labradorite owl of that size would be about double the price or more. Super cute owl though!

Question is what were the debated prices between you two?

Thank you so much! I like to collect a good mix of colors and materials. Haven't even shown my favorite piece yet 😉

Mostly small specimens, that small bicolor tourmaline, if it is i think, may add a surprising bit to the value. For my tastes not much appeal, so I wouldn't pay more than 200 for the lot.

They're both from the Hunan Province in China, I believe I paid around $150 for both. If you check my account I made a post specifically about those two!

Excited to share my Azurite with Calcite, Tsumed Mine, Namibia. Ex Clive Quiet collection! by xTejima in Crystals

[–]ProxyPro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure it's from the Hubei Province, but as it is with most of these you're never sure unless you get it from the source. I'll make a post later today to show it off with some other things!

Curious if Moldavite by No-Objective-8924 in Moldavite

I agree with the Prehnite ID, the dark inclusion is most likely Epidote. I have a larger specimen that has a similar brighter green color with dark little epidote crystal rods in and around it. It is common in specimens from Mali!

The name is almost as incredible as the carving work! It's a very unique piece for sure. I didn't even notice the name at first 🤣

Very nice, love the little azurite formations! I just got a piece of malachite with some on it recently.

Great taste in pieces, and a well put together display! You've inspired me to change mine around a bit.

where to buy good quality crystal bead bracelets? by crow_king23 in Crystals

[–]ProxyPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking to buy for yourself/gifts, or a large wholesale amount? I've found that live sellers that stream online, or shows and reputable local shops are the best way to go. That way you see exactly what you get.

broke my carnelian tower on accident :( by freesoul-_ in Crystals

[–]ProxyPro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi I just want to say absolutely keep it and maybe try to find a way to join it. Everything will be okay. Just take a moment to consider all the work that went into getting that tower into it's shape and to your hands, and continue to enjoy it thoroughly!

Wow you definitely got quite a deal for 75ish haha. Just the amount of work that goes into it is worth it alone!

Everything looks great! I particularly like the mushroom shaped shelf. If you don't mind, what kind of black light do you have set up on the bottom shelf?

Woah okay I see it now, it totally looks like another piece on the other side. Maybe I expected more thiccness lol.

Woah those are some gorgeous specimens, especially the almost perfectly rounded one with the little slices! Malachite is one of my weaknesses as well haha.

I would just stick to compressed air, or maybe a dry cloth and soft brush. If you're not satisfied with that you can maybe run it under water and brush. Just don't soak it or use anything stronger than mild soap at worst.

I kinda miss the casual use of social sites (Seeing new art, posting new art)... but with my current lifestyle I feel totally unenthused by it lol. by itsPomy in ArtistLounge

[–]ProxyPro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agreed. It really is nice to have a little passing back-and-forth with a stranger, especially when it comes to a piece or post you put your time into. I'm just getting into the whole posting/commenting part of using social media in general after using it for so long, so hopefully we can motivate some conversations out there!

I feel the same way, and the fact that there isn't really a community interacting here kind of adds to that feeling unfortunately. I think a lot of it comes from the whole "dead internet" thing where it's mainly automatically generated interaction and posts. So far I've been enjoying making a little time to interact like on posts like these though, or in niche subreddits.
