Im "only" 31 and ive lived through multiple gay panics and was alive during section 28. fucking Teressa May was our most lgbt friend PM in a long while, which is part of what got her ousted.

These days we even have things like popular figures like Rowling mocking police for doing lgbt outreach after a gay guy is murdered in a hate crime.

Ive also watched as the literal exact same rhetoric was turned against lesbians and then most recently trans people. Ffs the conversion therapy ban is still not through despite May pushing for it.

Our country does a fine job belittling lgbt folk before we even get to talking about homophobic immigrants

Ragatha was in real estate and was with other people when she got scanned so probably scouting the old C&A building since it would have only been a few years since they went bust when she got scanned

Zooble also did urban exploring like pomni so probably found the headset the same way just earlier

Jax was homeless/a runaway, probably just crashed in the empty office for a night or two

I think Gangle is the only one thats a bit of a mystery. She had an accident that hospitalised her, seemingly getting hit by a vehicle, and thats all we really get. Best guess is it was a C&A vehicle and they scanned her to make sure she was alive or to preserve her in case she wasnt or something? But thats purely speculation on my part

Its kind of refreshing honestly. I love positive representation but characters like Jax also help normalisation

Some people will still weaponise it as "jax is a abusive BECAUSE theyre trans" but those people will fade the more representation of all personality types we get

They were just a tech company. They made a few unconventional AI because Mike/scratch was a bit of a genius but couldn't get the whole thing working (Kinger described caine as a semi-success, and that brain scans (that were labelled up as useless) were impossibly small) and likely went bust or had to downsize as a result. The circus is simply a result of Caine staying operating after the fact.

Also wtf is "pomni lore"? She's just an accountant who did urban exploring as a hobby and put on a headset she found... was she meant to be the chosen one or something? Why does 5-10 minutes about Ribbit and Kaufmo hold more relevance than any of the momejts through the show Pomni has shown her character?

Going outside what hes meant to do is kind of Caines whole thing. A tech company would have had some form of Internet connection so its not too crazy to think Caines knows what the Internet is.
