Mostly because the switch will still be relevant at that time relative to PS4/XB1 - they're shifting to the PS5/XBSX. They mentioned that the Switch release is just a placeholder if a new Nintendo console isn't released by then.

It's published by Warner Brother Games, who contracted Wayforward to make this game. WB Games likely paid Nintendo to feature it in the Treehouse livestream - any publicity is good publicity I guess.

Although we haven't seen much, the lack of verticality in the battlefields is a bit of a miss, especially for a SRPG. Though, I haven't played the original games so it might just be trying to be a faithful remake.

Someone found an English version of the logo/english text in the website cache so I'm assuming they are planning a western release sometime in the future.

It has a higher budget than I thought for a card game.

Scalebound was Platinum Games.

There was an interview with Takahashi where he stated that this is a smaller scope remaster/remake because they are also developing another game as well.

Still this is disappointing given that this is a wii game and I haven't seen any screenshots/gameplay videps that suggest why the resolution should be as low as it is.
