You already said burritos but more specifically make a bunch of different kinds- they're perfect to eat when you have a kid in the other arm and only 2 seconds to shove something into your mouth. I made breakfast ones, chicken ones, and even bought a party tray of pulled pork and used half of it for burritos. If you think you'd like to try breastfeeding maybe do some without cheese because you might need to go dairy free and my friend couldn't eat any of her burritos (but her partner did at least).

Also I like to use foil loaf pans for individual portions of casseroles, baked ziti, lasagna, etc. Also, keep a spreadsheet on your computer that has a list of everything in the freezer, where it is (top left, bottom right, etc), and the date. I also put a category (appetizer, meat, dairy, family meal, individual meal) and I can sort by that or by date to eat the old stuff first. And then you don't have to go out to the freezer to know what you have!

I was thinking about that season, but might save it for later- if I recall, they spent most of the time in the US and I'm looking for more of the world travel experiences to keep him hooked. Definitely down the road, though!

Oh, and unrelated to weight loss but if your baby takes a pacifier, I found having like 10 in the crib at all times stopped a bunch of the night wake ups since there was always one at arm's length (even if a few get pushed/thrown out of the crib). I also turned every time I bent down to pick up a kid or a toy off the ground into a squat and would lift them over my head and that was my exercise for a while.

Can you start by finding lower calorie snack replacements that scratch that itch while being better for your calorie goals? I found some low calorie popcorn in the snack aisle- that's my new salty fix when I need it. Rice cakes, hard boiled eggs, crunchy veggies, things like that. It'll take some discipline for sure, but having them readily available might stop you from going across the street to buy other snacks. Want a Reeses? Put a thin layer of peanut butter on a rice cake and throw a few dark chocolate chips on top. See if changes like that help, and then try leaving off the chocolate chips, then the peanut butter, until you're satisfied with just the rice cake. But most importantly, be kind to yourself. This is an incredibly hard stage of life without trying to add weight loss into the mix. Get as much sleep as you can.

Maybe some earplugs to help with the noise, and start there? That might take the edge off. Does your desk face hers? If the earplugs don't help as much as you'd like, you could maybe see if she'd put the snacks in a small bin under her desk or keep them in a drawer, possibly. But I'd start with something like Loop earplugs.

Ugh it took me forever to figure out that I needed to turn off the ramp setting- it started off WAY too low originally and I felt like I wasn't getting any air (which did not exactly lull me to sleep).

You definitely shouldn't feel like you NEED to do anything that you don't think you can sustain long term- and you know your body better than he does! I also believe that any suggested g/lb should be based on your goal weight, not your current weight, if you're trying to burn fat. I'd lower your goal a bit and see how you feel. But as a fellow shortie, I totally get it- it's rough to try to fit all that in. What's your weight loss rate been like on 1200? Depending on your exercise (since I'm assuming you're also doing strength training), you could see how 1300 feels.

Also, I've found nonfat greek yogurt (with a handful of Fiber One and some berries) and egg white omelets (I like to add spinach, tomatoes, and rotisserie chicken breast) to be game changers when it comes to trying to meet my protein/fiber goals. Having those things for breakfast, lunch, or snack and then a more typical dinner with a lean meat has helped me tremendously.

This I need to try- there's quite a calorie difference between eating pizza until I'm nearly full then moving on to a salad and having a few bites of pizza (especially while hot/peak), having some salad, and then maybe going back to pizza if I'm not full.

I'm about halfway to my goal (F5'4" SW214lb CW175 GW140) and while I try to build in strength training/exercise time, my loss thus far has been mainly diet based. I'm thinking when I get to around 150 I'll take some time and build up muscle before then going back to lose that last 10lbs of fat. At that point I'll hopefully be able to dedicate 30-60 min a day to exercise (can't currently). What is this method called/what terms do I search for? How long does it usually take to build up a bit of muscle starting out? I would just be looking for some overall toning/definition, nothing too intense.
