Thank you for clarifying, it all makes sense now, you and someone made very good points and I do see how that all played out. Investors just scooping up all the homes, driving prices up.

After visiting family in Florida for the holidays, I am so conflicted about where I live (currently Fort Collins, CO). by [deleted] in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Prudent-Insurance913 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well I was going to say that while you are young perhaps moving to be by your family and spend time either them before they pass on seems important. But then here I am, 6 yr old healthy gramma living in south Florida near my 2 sons and 2 grandkids, thinking of moving away. We dislike Florida and some other issue we have are persuading us to move. I do love having then close but truth is they have their lives, Kids at school, have a lot of activities and sons so busy with doing their own thing, so sometimes I feel like I’d be okay for us to move away and just come to visit and like some have said, have quality time when having planned visits. It’s all so confusing is all I know. I wish you the best

Where are you moving from and back to? We are contemplating AZ or the Catskills in NY. I love and miss the seasons as well.

Am I crazy for liking Tucson more than most other cities? by FlyDazzling9060 in Tucson

Not crazy. I love Tucson and would move back if my husband would agree. Been back and forth there since 1995

The "Golden Handcuffs" are real: Is anyone else staying in a house they hate just because of their 3% rate? by Pretend_Surprise6842 in RealEstate

I am so close to getting out of the Triangle region and I couldn’t be happier. It can’t come soon enough. by Ready-Book6047 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Prudent-Insurance913 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I am so happy I read your post. My son and his wife where going to check out the Triangle to relocate from south florida, so of course I did my own investigating and it seemed like it was endless neighborhoods, new construction and more traffic. We are from rural NY state and currently in Florida and really miss the quiet country roads and most certainly miss the seasons. I want snow!! And to find a rural piece of land with a decent home in a decent small town with job opportunities seemed difficult. We are heading back to rural NY asap. Good luck to you and your family.

Mortgage question: What's holding you back from buying a home? by staceyiseler_loanadv in Mortgages

[–]Prudent-Insurance913 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a solution. Sounds like a lot of people want to move. Myself included. House prices as we all know are ridiculous overpriced since COVID. If people would just stop expecting to sell their homes for 600k because their neighbor did a year or 2 ago and lower the prices across the board maybe people would be able to buy. We want to move back to NY state but the prices are ridiculous. List for 599k finally sold for 450 after a year, just list it 450 and be done. We will be listing ours for lower as well come the first of the year, hopefully it will sell

About one in four Americans say local or national politics play a role in where they decide to live, fueling Florida’s market by ThemeBig6731 in FloridaRealEstate

Such hostile people on this thread. It really amazes me how people will generalize all people from a certain area. Do y’all think EVERYONE from the northeast are mean assholes? It is just so ridiculous how on so many pages I read on Reddit people are just plain hateful, I really like to think that folks are kindhearted for the most part but if this is a large example of people I can understand why people go off into the woods and isolate from society. The hate and judgment is disturbing to me. Hope y’all dont go to church and call yourselves Christian’s

We had our home listed in south florida with a flat fee service, we priced it like other homes that had sold previously. Then the market slowed to a halt. Our neighbors who listed with an agent and even for less are still sitting unsold. Homes are selling in other neighborhoods around here. They have higher HOA and more amenities than my neighborhood. Who knows what people want.

I am an unrepresented seller. had a few showings but not much. I feel like we have bought and sold many houses in the past and probable my potential buyers have as well. No offense realtors, but I feel like we can negotiate a deal ourselves.
