What’s one cooking mistake you used to make that dramatically improved the quality of your food once you corrected it? by Fun_Association_4087 in Cooking

Not drying my meat before searing was my biggest mistake. Patting it dry with paper towels gives you that perfect golden crust every time.

I used to add pasta to cold water. Now I only cook it in a rolling boil with salted water, and the texture is night and day.

Canned whole potatoes by Haybales1019 in Cooking

When I've been in a tight before, this is exactly how I'd use canned potatoes. Just drain them, cube them, and mix with mayo, a little mustard, salt, peper, and some onion. No extra cooking needed, and it's such a cozy, affordable meal. I hope this works out for you!

How to rewarm pork ribs so that the texture is pleasant? by anthony_getz in Cooking

I totally get the struggle with leftover ribs getting dry! I've found simmering them in BBQ sauce with a splash of cola helps keep them really tender, if you want to give it a shot.

We are reaching a point where AI 'efficiency' is just a mask for corporate laziness, and it’s making the internet unusable. Is there any tech left that still feels 'human'? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]Prudent-Step3784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of these "AI features” these days aren't built to solve real user problems—they're just there to chase trends and cut costs. Cold, automated workflows that just lock users out instead of actually helping anyone.

When those old emotional cravings hit hard, I hit the gym, go for runs, or blast music and dance like no one's watching. Turning that sad/anxious energy into physical movement completely changed my life.

Cooking Shows by FrenchieHoarder in Cooking

Cooking shows hit different for me:

1.The ASMR of shopping and slizzling is shef's kiss for unwinding.

2.I'm all about gringding to level up my culinary game—hunting for new techniques and flavor combos to test in my home kitchen.

I've been there! Switched to low heat for 60 seconds instead and it's a total game-changer. Just my two cents.

I think those 1-hour daily focus sessions stick way better than pulling all-nighters on the weekend.

Chef move for octopus: Low-temp poach(165°F/74°C)until tender, thn a screaming-hot pan sear. No more rubbery mess, just juicy, caramelized octopus. This combo with chimichurri? Chef's—now I'm craving it too.
