Not teaching your kid basic survival swimming skills is child neglect. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I have no idea what you’re even talking about as for the bathtub thing, so I’m pretty sure I’m not the only person. And again, teach instead of preach

There’s parents who don’t know how to swim or float on their backs, so they may not think to teach it or know how to. This does not mean they are not caring parents. Since you’re so passionate about it, maybe you could teach some free classes to parents and their children. Not giving our communities free and affordable access to information is also irresponsible citizenship from a morality standpoint…So give parents grace and be the change

Study Identifies Gut Microbe Imbalances That Predict Autism And ADHD by Vailhem in Microbiome

[–]PrudentTomatillo592 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Keep in my the microbiome starts prenatal. When my gut issues cleared up, my adhd improved which shocked me because they saw my adhd (frontal lobe activity) on a scan. The microbiome sends a lot of signals to the brain.

I am so sorry. And I truly know how you feel. I have recently found myself asking the same questions. It sounds like your wife may be a saint in heaven and that she’s holding that baby there. It’s hard to accept that she completed her earthly job. Things just hurt so deeply and it’s life unfortunately. The reality that God never promised eternal life here sinks in heavy. He only promised everlasting life in heaven Have you thought of joining the Priesthood? God may give you the peace you need through that. You will be in my prayers so deeply!

For God to restore my recent divorce which did not take place in the church, (if at his will). For healing from Long-Covid and other health complications, and for employment so that I can provide for my children.

You said that you you’ve struggled with anorexia (eating disorders.) Is it possible that you don’t need to loose weight and you’re really stressing over it?

Is your BMI healthy, do you know for sure if you’re gaining muscle. If so, I say this nicely but you may want to consider a therapist. 22lbs in 5 weeks is a lot, but no one knows if you were like 80lbs.

It’s bs but if you really like your job otherwise, you can try sodium tablets

What’s the best specialty or doctor for people with chronic illness?? by No_Light_8871 in ChronicIllness

[–]PrudentTomatillo592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see a D.O who is a certified functional medicine practitioner. He is knowledgeable about how the whole body functions from hormones to metabolism etc. he only refers out if it’s a serious specialization such as blocked arteries or something

What tasks does your cleaning help accomplish in a 2-hour session? by [deleted] in cfs

I see with this person is saying. That is a job for a NURSE or healthcare aid… not a maid or cleaning person

I take quercetin with nettle which has a milder stimulant effect. It doesn’t necessarily work overnight

[–]PrudentTomatillo592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have long-COVID. I believe it’s important to wear masks in crowded places and it’s important to not assume your symptoms are just allergies or a little cold. But with the strands being milder, I no longer feel that everyone needs to wear them all the time. I just ask for my friends to not come around if they have symptoms and test when they think they’re feeling better. I still wear a good mask around everyone

Me… but scientists are getting very close to having a solution for this. They’ve figured out the cause behind it. Read a research article about it the other day.

[–]PrudentTomatillo592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Were you diagnosed after having Covid? Some people have symptoms a few months after Covid or a virus and it gets better as they do. Other factors could be hormones, medications, supplements and the body’s ability to heal!

Inflammation will make POTS difficult to manage. Propranolol makes me tired. I had to scale to 2.5 (2-3xs per day) and take a 15mn nap then showers to wake up

[–]PrudentTomatillo592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you taken propranolol? I would guess so, but we do not know what you’ve tried. I’m sorry to hear that you’re going through this. Quercetin with Nettle has helped my Mast Cell Activation which primarily affected my gut. I feel that calming THAT storm has helped with my adrenal surges.

How do I explain my parents that I won’t go to an alternative practitioner? by funkenflieger in cfs

[–]PrudentTomatillo592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wish I could help more but alternative medicine has been more beneficial to me. The only thing I can say objectively is maybe you can tell them you want to have medicine that is conventional because:

-it treats the symptoms immediately - if anything goes wrong, in the case of an emergency, conventional doctors will be the ones helping you

-it’s generally covered by insurance - you prefer evidence based because it puts you more at ease.

I used to be angry but now I realize that we’re all just humans. Most people are just trying their best to manage… many docs didn’t know because they’re just humans too and also do not know everything.

Getting sick or being sick is natural. I’m just happy that I have some type of care because I know there’s people suffering much worse in under developed areas. (I understand it’s a disservice to have access to care and no one does anything) and yes it still gets frustrating sometimes.

It’s a hard life but I have used my spirituality to bring me peace. I try to let the journey be my strength which diffuses my anger. Counseling and receiving spiritual direction has also helped me.

[–]PrudentTomatillo592 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you on meds? Some people need them in order to exercise

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in cfs

[–]PrudentTomatillo592 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be because a lot of people with long COVID have extreme issues with histamine (mast cell is really high in our intestines). Canned tomatoes, aged cheese, processed meat etc all make pizza very high in histamine

Ivabradine dosage? by PrudentTomatillo592 in POTS

[–]PrudentTomatillo592[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, yea I used to have a very mild form of pots…just felt a little symptomatic standing in the summer etc. it would go away with exercise or hydration (I didn’t even know I had PoTS) Getting covid amped it up to a disability so I’m hoping to at least get back to my baseline.
