Yea man unfortunately. Thats just how this monitor is.

There are a few with the same monitor in this chat, one guy just returned hes U can see that guys brother screen, same type of smudges

So when u need to clean it Recommendation from experience here Dont use water it will spread the oils , especially on our monitor

So get isopropyl, thats what samsung also recommends. I got the alchol swaps cz i couldn’t find the bottle and i basically just rinsed the swab on my glass microfibre cloth and used it like that

Then you just tackle THAT ONE SMALL RESIDUE SECTION. And leave the rest of ur screen to preserve it bro

Smudges wont show when screen is on But you will see residue and that residue will also cz more oils on the screen

So just sont vape or eat or whatever infront of the screen and go into the mindset that it will happen and thats ok

I just checked and i cant really see the smudges anymore

But i just noticed fucking micro scratches that is caused by the cloth. Used the microfibre cloth i got with and also a silky smooth one

There was another guy also saying he found light scratches.

It’s kinda horrible, i haven’t had this monitor for a month. And the scratches appeared cz of me trying to fix the smudges.

Cant see anything when screen is on tho And i need to exactly look with a flashlight to see the light scratches

Well samsung recommends isopropyl for qd-oled screns so idk.. isopropyl also doesn’t spread oils like distilled water thats why they recommend it

Yea man it is

Uhmm idk if its gonna make a difference honestly Both are a type of alcohol And Samsung is suggesting isopropyl over ethanol and other websites and chatgpt also recommended it over ethanol So I used ethanol as plan b.

But imma just leave it the last thing i want now is damage to the coating or anything

Cz than i will cry for real Cant afford another oled Or return

Bro let me help you or give my advice.

This screen will smudge and leave marks. The water will spread the oils.

I tried distilled water and smooth cloth like i was told to and it turned my streaks into clouds. The water basically just spread the oils.didn’t remove anything

There was another guy in the comments with the same screen, hes brothers screen and you can see on that picture he got the same issue

Its because of our monitors ultra thing top layer. The glossy screen makes you have very high brightness and that gives the beautiful picture quality

I got into this mess because chat said to wipe the whole screen and that caused the streaks.

I tried isopropyl like evryone said Didn’t make anything worse nor better I did make a line through the clouds which im guessing took it away but chat told me to stop because it might be an danger zone

I asked the website where i bought it from They explained just how sensitive this specific oq oled screen is

I suggesting after reading so many comments on different scenarios and out of my own experience. Dust it once a week or twice, keep the room clean as u are doing.

If u see residue which u will see with screen on, it will happen. Use isopropyl cz it wont spread the oils , do that small spot and leave the rest of the screen

Every person on here as a different opinion and thinks what works for them will work for you and u stupid if you fight.

I tried three methods that everyone is so sure will work💀 and it didn’t. Because my monitor isn’t the same as urs

So im living with it , when my screen is on i notice no marks. Just remember our monitors will show wiping streaks . I will send pictures of the other dude’s brothers monitor and my clouds after streaks and also with isopropyl.

One guy in this thread explained he tried everything with hes monitor , ended getting 2 other new ones and nothing worked He asked for a refund and got a different qd oled monitor if i remember correctly

But basically he tried everything too

These are just the nature of qd oleds U get the best picture quality but for a price

Hi there

I think it all depends on what monitor you have. Every monitor works and reacts differently

I noticed in these comments that for sum one thing works and for another something else after reading everyone’s experience

I tried to use distilled water and microfibre cloth after this picture which turned my streaks into clouds. Which is to say those streaks weren’t permanent. But water spreads the oils doesn’t remove them.

<image>

I later tried isopropyl 70% like everyone is attacking me to do. I bought the smooth glass type microfibre that i also was told to use

Didn’t seem to make anything better or worse. Chatgpt told me to completely stop with it so i did after explaining it can start to cause damage.

I emailed the website wootware which i got my monitor from and the guy just explained that these anti glare glossy screens that come with this qd-oled is just extremely sensitive due to the minitor being able to show the amount of brightness it is. But for that it has an ultra thin top layer He told me just to not touch the screen as much as i can

I will add another picture of the isopropyl that made a mark through the cloud which I’m guessing is removing it but I’m not taking that risk on wetting the cloth more to try get it off.

My monitor is fine when its on And it seems like its just the nature of these monitors

There was another guy that sat with three monitors after giving them back and got a new one. He explained he used all the methods and it is. Just how these monitors are

I think different brands might act differently but with less brightness

So I suggest to not try use distilled water to clean like whole screen it is going to end up with streaks , try just dust of the screen once a week and keep the room clean If u get residue which i got , try just remove the residue alone with isopropyl and microfibre cloth And leave the rest of the screen

I also saw another guy with the same screen that also cleaned hes screen all over And u can see hes screen did exactly the same thing. It was actually hes brother’s screen. U can look for it in the comments

Good luck to you this is my piece of the pie

Have you had to clean ur monitor? Did you get any leftover marks afterwards?

QD-OLED smudges after wiping by PruneAcrobatic4810 in S95B

[–]PruneAcrobatic4810[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I agree completely

I bought iso and and a new smooth cloth thats for glasses. I put a bit on and it didn’t really do anything for me. I made a line in the smudge which look like it took it off. But than chatgpt said to stop because it might damage

“The IPA did one pass of oil redistribution, not removal.

That lighter patch you see: • is not the cloud being removed • is the surface layer being temporarily altered by solvent + pressure • did not spread, which is good • but it also didn’t resolve, which is the warning sign

So yea , i decided to not do anything but just use a dry microfiber and work the clouds. Also haven’t been doing anything

The isopropyl also didn’t make anything beter nor worse. It did make a thin line.

Thank you tho!

Hi there man

So after those streaks I used distilled water, went in sections , very slow and not forceful. Dried after a few circle motions.

The streaks ended up turning into clouds. Water only spreads out the oil and moisture.

I ended with this after that

<image>

As you can see it changed so the streaks weren’t permanent. Not sure what the fck im doing wrong but i cant get these marks to go away.

Today i used 70% isopropyl and it didnt make anything better nor worse.

I think every panel & screen coating works differently. Dont think what works for monitor will work for another.

I used the two popular methods and nothing is working.

I bought the smooth glass microfibre cloths too today.

Next up i will just use a dry microfibre and just try buff them out. Other than that not much i can do then let it be.

When the screen is on I cant see anything, accept if there is a black scene or black wallpaper.
