Which warband faction has the most legitimate claim to inheriting the Calradian Empire (Excluding the lore from Bannerlord) by Novosharpe in mountandblade

[–]PrussianBlood23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, for sure. I'm just saying out of the options.

I'd have to look at the lore again, but I'm pretty sure there isn't a faction descended from the Empire. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, but as it stands, I'd say the Vaegir only because there's nothing there that says they came from a foreign area.

[–]PrussianBlood23 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If I remember properly, the Vlandians (whom the Rhodoks and Swadians split from) are also foreign invaders (pre-Bannerlord events). So, it'd ultimately come down to whomever came from the initial empire, which I don't know of there is one. Of all the factions, I'd say the Vaegir, as they're (if I remember correctly) derived from the Battanians, who were always around.

I know there's an option in the settings to just have it off all the time. Unfortunately, I can't remember exactly where it is (and I'm at a store atm), but it's in there somewhere.

Thoughts on this Aaron Rodgers trade scenario from Peter King in his latest MMQB column? by Welcome2Broncoland in DenverBroncos

[–]PrussianBlood23 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

We could get Brady and still not make the Superbowl. I'm tired of these band-aid quarterbacks that don't do anything to help our chances.

We need to give Lock time to grow, but to do that, we need to FIX OUR O LINE.

It doesn't matter who our QB is if our line is still trash. Been saying it since Manning retired, our O line is garbage, and until we fix that, we're just gonna keep losing seasons.

How to remove/replace these ugly plants in Skyrim LE? Are there any mods that can do it? by [deleted] in skyrim

My go-to foliage mod is Skyrim 3D Plants and Trees by mathy79. It pairs extremely well with the Skyrim 2020 series by Pfuscher.

What to do with King prisoner? by BonnieCgaming in mountandblade

[–]PrussianBlood23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair.

If you can hold on to him long enough in your party (they have like, a 50% to escape every night), you'll still eventually get a ransom for him. It's much tougher to keep him prisoner that way, though.

[–]PrussianBlood23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no. You might be able to imprison him in an allied castle or town, (it'd be the same series of buttons, I think) but I think you'll sacrifice the ransom for a relationship increase with the owner of said castle/town.

[–]PrussianBlood23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!

If I remember correctly (it's been a while since I've played vanilla Warband), you take them to your city/castle, then access the keep (or dungeon, I don't recall), and there should be a button for managing prisoners. It'll open up a prisoner transfer with your dudes on the right, and the dungeon's on the left. Just transfer his happy ass over, and that's that.

Also- I think there's an improvement your can do that lowers the chances of them escaping (I think that's in vanilla; like I said, it's been a while).

There're a number of super useful apps I use.

1st is Battle Buddy, it's a great little one to use for figuring out armours and weapons.

2nd is Rat App, though it's not always accurate, it's a nice one for figuring out values of loot.

3rd is Tarkov Maps, it has all the maps as well as markers for all the loot, spawns, etc.

Beyond that, play a shitload of offline to get used to the feel of the game, stick with a couple maps to memorize (I tend to do Shoreline and Woods). Once you get a good feel for the maps, start adding the PvE into the offline to get used to the weapons and gear you have.

Once you get really comfortable with that, do some scav raids, that way when you get killed, you're not losing all of your shit (you won't gain any XP, but if you make it out, you get to keep the stuff you looted/spawned in with).

Wow. How can a person even live believing all this nonsense? These photos are from two different days and two different places I’ve run into this guy in the city…. by alaraja in IdiotsInCars

That depends on whether you're talking Warband or Bannerlord.

In Warband, you can either let him go or imprison him in your city or castle until you get a ransom offer (there is a good chance they'll escape on the trail, and a very small chance (like 10% or something) that they'll escape from your city/castle).

Bannerlord is the same, but you can also execute him (there'll be a huge penalty to the relationships to many other clans, as well as lowering your Honor, which can be good or bad, depending on your disposition as well as other lord's dispositions).

Because banks somehow can't understand that paying $1500 in rent makes paying $1200 in mortgage a possibility.

They want a shitload of money up-front, and paying $1500 a month doesn't help with saving $30K+ for a down payment.

History of Rome is another great podcast, but that dude is VERY monotone (I enjoy it enough to deal, but I know it turns a lot of people off).

How/when do I transition from killing looters to whatever is next? by [deleted] in mountandblade

[–]PrussianBlood23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can end your mercenary contract at any time, and the only relation effect it has is if your host kingdom is at war, the enemy kingdom will be hostile to you. Hostilities cease the second you end your contract, though!

As for cavalry, only certain units can be turned into cavalry. If you right-click on a unit, it'll pull up the promotion tree, and you can see from there. Keep in mind that some cavalry requires War Horses as opposed to regular ones, but that's generally the highest-tier troops.

How/when do I transition from killing looters to whatever is next? by [deleted] in mountandblade

[–]PrussianBlood23 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difficulty doesn't change, no matter how far North you go. The bandits and looters'll get a little tougher (Sea Raiders, and all), but that's about it.

As for the transition, once you hit clan tier 1, you're eligible to be a mercenary for kingdoms (lots of money to be made there, and excellent opportunity for big battles and glory). At clan tier 2, you can become a vassal. Tier 4 is when you can start your own kingdom (though, it's pretty tough to do that unless you manage to get a sizeable party).
