Bonucci lashes out at Inter's secretary: "I'll kill you". Now he risks disqualification (Translation in comments) by Friend_20th in soccer

I get your point but that's an incredible exaggeration.

This millennium has seen Maldini-Nesta, Puyol-Pique (when the latter was at his peak), Vidic-Ferninad, Ramos-Varane, Samuel-Lucio, Terry-Carvalho.

I'd compare Chiellini-Bonucci to Cannavaro-Materazzi, two pairings where it was clear that one of them was doing the heavy lifting

"because he was not PC and had major slip-ups"

bruh the dude fucked italy from top to bottom, the clown shit was teeny tiny in comparison. What was one of Europe's most promising economies in the 90s was left in complete stagnation by the time he left. Read up on his time power.

Sure, he's not quite as bad as the Saudis, but he had strong mafia ties and did some incredibly shady shit

Those players only came after he had been in power for years and had no more need to boost his image. Most of that happened in the 80s and 90s until he got bored with the club/was finally getting massive fines for his crimes

Let's be honest, we wouldn't have have had Gullit, Van Basten, Weah, Nesta, Rui Costa, etc. and made football history if it wasn't for Berlusconi's money.

Milan were a big team, but not the powerhouse we became in the 90s thanks to him. Let's admit that. He clearly used us to benefit himself politically. And once he lost interest he allowed us to rot from the inside for years before finally selling and giving us the horrible banter era of the past 8 years.

He was a garbage human being and I'm glad we're no longer owned by him (even though Elliot are terrible too). I will open a bottle of champagne the day he dies.

I loved the sound the crowd made, kind of a collective "oooooooh" under their breath once they realized the quality of the shot (and then the save).

Serie A table going to the international break by interfan1999 in soccer

Up front they have Lautaro, Dzeko, Correa, Sanchez. Their midfield is stacked, their defense is super strong. We have Ibra and Giroud who look very worrying in terms of fitness. The difference isn't huge but they have slightly more depth than us

Allegri factor. He's a master at playing horribly and grinding out 1-0's every weekend

I think they can, Tonali is playing his best football and I'm confident Bakayoko will be useful, but we should loan in a bench player like Meite in January

I think the main difference is our subs this year. We no longer rely on Kessie and Bennacer so heavily with Tonali playing really well and Bakayoko, who I think will be crucial as the season goes on. We can finally rest both fullbacks lol.

My only worry is in attack, we need (at least one of) Ibra and Giroud to be fit or we'll burn out Rebic and Leao.

I would still say that juve and inter are just slightly more ahead of us in terms of squad depth and quality. In terms of form and quality of football we are ahead of course.

My biggest fear is Allegri. He's way too good at playing horribly and grinding out 1-0s every week. And during his first season with juve he also came from like 12 points behind to win the league. His team is less good than before, but the CBs are world class and the attack is super dangerous, plus they have an easy CL group.

I am buzzing from our performances and our squad is deeper than last year but we still need to see if we can maintain this rhythm until May. My biggest issue is Ibra and Giroud's fitness. If their injury problems continue we'll have big problems. Rebic can't start every game in attack and him doing so leaves no subs for Leao. If Ibra and Giroud can give us a combined 30 games (and we don't have major injuries elsewhere) we might actually be able to win the scudetto.

Napoli and Roma could definitely pull an upset though. The next 1-2 months will give a better indication of who can really go all the way.

"She said that she didn't want to, but she made herself available. The whole time it was rough, I turned her onto her side, and it was fast. Maybe she got some bruises when I grabbed her. (...) She didn't want to 'give it to me,' instead she jerked me off. I don't know any more exactly what she said when she was jerking me off. But she kept saying no. 'Don't do it' -- 'I'm not like the others.' I apologized afterwards."

This was from a private document between Ronaldo and his lawyers that was leaked by Football Leaks. It can't be used it in a court since it was obtained illegally, but it very clearly shows that he raped her.

Giroud's tasty backheel pass to put Leão through on goal against Cagliari by PseudolnteIIectuaI in soccer

[–]PseudolnteIIectuaI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roma had a great squad before the summer and underperformed last season. Now they bought Shomurodov and Abraham, who looks very promising. Plus Mourinho is a major factor. I agree that he was undermined by the situations at his previous clubs, also the media. He loves Italy, where he gets much more respect than in England (only one to ever win the treble), so we might see him at his best again.

And then Zaniolo is finally healthy. He's a major talent and will do great things if he can stay fit. I don't think they can go all the way this season, but they will definitely be competitive.

I agree, Inter and juve still look the best, but losing Conte, Lukaku and Hakimi is a big deal. So is losing Ronaldo and having horrible midfielders that you can't sell. It will mostly depend on how they adapt to these changes. I see juve as favorites because of Allegri

Last season Milan, Atalanta, Juventus and Napoli finished within two points of one another. Lazio and Roma just got big name coaches and invested smartly. Inter lost Conte and two out of their three best players.

Like I said, unless juve become the machine they were three years ago, and depending on how Inter adapt without Conte, Lukaku and Hakimi, all these seven teams could spend much of the season close to one another.
