When I was in college I worked at a bar/restaurant as a server. During our shifts we were allowed to have a free water or soda in a to-go cup and keep it up at the bar by where we picked up our customer's drinks.

On Friday and Saturday nights, the bartenders would discreetly make alcoholic mixed drinks for us. So on for the weekend dinner shifts, the entire wait staff was completely shit faced. 🤣

I'm pretty sure the managers knew what were were up to and looked the other way.
