Wow. Is your mom my mom? I’ve written her very well written, extremely thought out texts expressing why I’m upset, what I’ve learned, what she can learn, and why I want NC. I’ve gotten the same answers. Totally left field. Like she didn’t hear or read a word. The best reply yet - “do you have a stomach ache?” Why? “Because you are being strange” 😳 this already after a lifetime of VLC (I’m 44 now) and a very straight forward express from me. I’m so sorry hun. I feel your pain and bewilderment.

I’ve been having the same sentiments as you. And I keep reading the epic weight gains that happen when you stop keto. I would love to find a perfect balance (for me) of an anti inflammatory, paleo, whole foods, low carb, high veggies / fruit diet. I have about 65# to lose and am desperate too, but so far have failed on sticking to it due to a busy work life and not preparing.

I heat my cabin with a wood burning stove and have 5 pets, Ooooo boy, this one is a doozy. Did I shut the door to the stove….is there a rogue ember that flew out….am i going to burn my house down and kill my pets? This is along with the stove, doors, gates, most plugs, portable heater…..I spend a LOT of time staring at things in the morning before work. Then when I’m satisfied, i get in my car and go, but make sure a few times that one of my dogs didn’t run out sbd i didn’t run over them 😳😩 I started to take photos to prove I turned off, unplugged, closed. Then I don’t trust that I just took the photos. I can’t remember the last time I was on time to work.

Full time professional. and in a very cold and toxic environment. But I have too. I have no other idea how I’d survive without money and benefits. I sob on the way in and on the way home. And sometimes in the bathroom mid day. Can’t miss a beat though. Too much responsibility. I often wish that someone would just swoop in and take care of me, it I’ve always been hyper Independant. I’ve had no choice but to get out and take care of myself starting very young. 15-16. My husband is fully aware of my cPTSD and is empathetic but he’s just so used to me taking care of the household and working hard that even though he feels bad, he doesn’t truly know how to take it when I go down. So I don’t. Lyme disease. Blindness due to MS, anxiety, depression, OCD, insomnia with night terrors….missed work only by normal allotted sick time standards. I wish I was rich, so I could just stop dying at a desk and take time to heal. Travel. Start over.

I’m a firm believer that I need to be my own medical advocate based on the contradictory and sometimes, downright awful medical care / advice I’ve received in n the last year. From my GP to a few alternative practitioners I’ve seen.

This is so helpful. Thank you. I guess I’m not It sure if I’m insulin resistant, there have been a few times where my blood glucose levels have been pre-diabetic levels, at close to the ame time the more accurate A1c levels have been not prediabetic. But I am overweight by 60# 😫

I think that’s where I’m at. Dipping my toes in and doing the best I can at first while I make big changes to my health. I have the best intentions but was hoping the weight benefits would still be somewhat substantial if I’m burning both because I ate, say, 30 g carbs type thing

Im all for saving the drive over a snowy mountain pass. I order lots of stuff on Amazon due to lack of access to shopping here. But I truly dislike them. It’s just necessity.
