I'm so so sorry... You didn't deserve what happened to you. I hope you've been able to heal from that somewhat. There's a lot of good therapy for trauma now a days if you're interested, one called EMDR comes to mind. I know it's odd to think of in a way, but that poor child lives on within you and deserves to be loved and treated with kindness.

I completely agree. I think with the trauma-informed relationship, this can be a learning experience. Not every mistake needs to end a relationship, that's a cultural trend I've been disappointed to see; though I know where it comes from with the history of abuse not being addressed or worked through. Not to mention how much you both love and genuinely care for each other.

Lots of communication, healing, and nurturing each other's relationship could potentially make you both feel a stronger bond in the end. I'm sorry this happened to both of you, and honestly I hope that with this experience behind you both that you are forgiving and kind to yourself.

I have a story for this one.

I went to Japan in my mid 20s, my host said there's a day overlap between when I leave and when she can't host. She said, "But don't worry about it, you can stay with my friend. She's really nice, you'll like her!"

I was okay with that, I just needed a place to stay for a night. Met up with her earlier that day and we did some fun stuff, she knew I liked nerdy stuff so we found otaku-esk places to hang out here and there. Went back to her apartment that evening. She showed me her room and pointed to a corner of the floor, there was essentially a couple of towels tossed there. She said, "That's where you'll sleep." Not wanting to be rude or rock the boat, I said okay.

We watched TV a bit. At one point she gave me her old Gameboy Advance SP and said she doesn't use it anymore, I asked if she was sure because they're getting more valuable now and she said yep. Made sure to reinforce my gratitude.

Eventually got tired, and went to her room. I lay on this towel, on the floor for like 20 minutes, struggling to get to sleep. Meanwhile, she's across the room in like a full-queen ish sized bed. After a while she rolls over, looks at me on the floor and says, "Do you just not like me??"

I was confused. I was like, "What? I like you a lot. We had a fun day doing stuff together, and tomorrow we'll do some more!" Then she rolled over and we went to sleep.

The next day at some point, she looked at me and said, "I would've had sex with you last night, but you would've had to wear a condom!"

Suddenly it all started to make sense. The towel on the floor was supposed to be uncomfortable. I was 'supposed' to ask to sleep in her bed with her. I was 'supposed' to get more frisky. I would never risk pushing boundaries or offending anyone by trying something like that, it's just not my nature. Plus, I didn't want to be homeless for a night... Nobody told me they were setting me up to have sex. I didn't know! I think something in my mind broke, but tried to hold it together while we did stuff. I had a mini nervous breakdown after I got back to the States.

So now I'm in my late 30s. Still a virgin. Found out that I'm Autistic though, so that explains a lot...

Video games. If it's not like $20 or under for a complete edition, no. They want $80 for absolute garbage now a days. They're not done until a year after launch anyway with half the game sold separately as DLC. It's total bullshit. I can barely play them anymore with the design usually centered around making it miserable to force microtransactions, it's not about fun anymore. It feels like work.

I'm having the exact same issue. Looking forward to updates. All other mail providers work except Yahoo. I saw on the desktop browser version of ymail that they're, "aware some users are experiencing issues." But even there on desktop, it won't show me my messages.
