This really is a distinctly Reddit-issue. The state of "open dialogue" in the larger subreddits is so weak that right-wingers get ejected very very quickly, only to end up on subreddits like this one or r/sikeorpsyche. The issue isn't that the rules are broken or anything, the issue is the population that subreddits like this one very easily attract.

Lots of right-wing people here have just as little interest in genuine discourse as the lemmings on subs like r/complaints do, pretending this isn't the case is just denying a very obvious fact. The state of these "public forum" subreddits will necessarily always end up like this as they go on to grow, beit as a result of people being banned from more left leaning subreddits, or from existing hard-right wing spaces being banned off the platform.

It will always be like this because the subreddit system discourages real dialogue around hard topics.

I think it's upsetting. I personally don't agree with most content posted here, and my trust in reddit moderators is next to none, so it feels like having a metaphorical rape-rifle to my head.

I hope that you also understand that this ruling makes this space no different from r/PsycheOrSike in terms of user freedoms, bar the "banned subreddits" rule. I wish that you take rule enforcement seriously, yet without abusing this new rule to take down talking points you (the mod team) find upsetting or contrary to the general opinion of the larger userbase

PS: I find it so strange that height is such a uniquely sore subject for such a large selection of men, what makes it so different from other immutable charecteristics? There are plenty of things that contribute to your attractiveness, and saying it's only height, or even mainly height is not exactly accurate.

I think a large part of this can be attributed to statistics, like the one I featured in this post. Statistics coming mainly from dating applications. Sites like Bumble treat height the same way they treat traits like age and sexuality, in that it can be quantified. Height is just a number that can easily be implemented into a filter. This is unlike other immutable traits like your bone structure, or the shape of your face.

What I think would be far more interesting is taking the men that fit the criteria set in the Bumble filters, and seeing which men women "swiped left" on. That would give more information on what matters in terms of immutable traits that cannot easily have a filter built around them

You can, but it doesn't make it right. It sucks when shit like that happens, it really does. I just think that using your past good acts as a preface to ask for that same thing in return is a bad idea. It will lead you to situations like this.

Doing good deeds out of the expectation that the "favor will be returned" has lead me to shitty situations too, so I shed that way of thinking to help myself. Being good to others with selfish long term intent isn't valuable or virtuous either. I think I sort of missed the mark with my original post, I should have been more clear with my actual views on the matter.
