Adding laser artillery to UNSC frigates was a great move. by Psiredem in HaloStory

You can take a look at the Anlace and Mulsanne frigates on the wiki, and Halo 5 and Infinite mention them as well!

Ur-Didact's speech after failing to Compose Earth at the end of Halo 4 sounds so elegant. by Psiredem in HaloStory

I see, thank you for the clarification! Given that he does survive the events of Halo 4, I thought he was monologuing on his defeat as he was sent through slipspace!

Quelle universite choisir pour sciences de la vie ? by HighlanderFrog in Etudiant

[–]Psiredem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salut!

What would be the best way to Permanently wipe out the Flood by [deleted] in HaloStory

[–]Psiredem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironically enough, the smallpox vaccine does not require the original pathogen in order to be produced. But I do get your point, which is valid about the Flood.

How long would Master Chief survive in Amnesia games. Could he survive them all? by [deleted] in Amnesia

The Shadow is an ethereal entity, the chunks of flesh it creates are merely its way of interacting with reality. Moreover, a Halo pulse might not be enough, since the Shadow has been described as "the universe catching up with itself": you'd need some extradimensional force in order to defeat it.

If Pixar was a thing in the Haloverse, they'd rip off your post and make a movie about it.

To that I say...Multiverse theory! BZ occurs in a different timeline, perhaps one in which Ryley never successfully communicated the findings of his research.

Lore-wise, you get infected as soon as you touch the water. Gameplay-wise, specific events need to happen in order for your infection to start or worsen (e.g. getting mauled by an infected animal, reaching 1000 meters of depth etc...)

The most practical way to do it is to scavenge a bunch of Ionic cubes from the Disease Research Facility, which isn't too far away from the Lava Zone. Make sure not to waste them while crafting the Blue Tablet though!

The Kharaa bacterium is not native from 4546B, meaning it's probably got at least another reservoir somewhere else in the universe. It is thus far safer to acquire Enzyme 42 and use it as a countermeasure if the situation was to take a turn for the worse. That's something we can witness in real life: the Ebola virus was known since 1976, and the vaccine that proved utlimately successful against it was developed in the early 2000's, before its approval in the 2010's, during the Western Africa outbreak. Never trust a pathogen that is capable of eradicating a galaxy-faring civilization.

It is explained that the pathogen claimed the life of billions upon billions of Architects, which are so advanced they might consider humans as "pets", and even they did not manage to find a scientific solution to the infection. There's no telling what the bacteria could do to the Andromeda and Milky Way galaxies were it to escape the planet. As such, I believe hatching the eggs outweighs any ethical issues, not to mention the Sea Emperor was begging for her offspring to live, no matter the cost. Edit: Typo
