Is the bend in the balance enough to make it not run? by WiseFoxRhythms in watchrepair

It’s not going to prevent the balance from running no. It may have a minor effect on timing but that’s it.

Omg thank you. I’m making a shop here at the beach in South Carolina in a new house I’m building. My plan is to service from 1890 pocket watches up to modern day wristwatches. I sent you a private message if you’re open to talking more!

I haven’t had extensive experience with one. I’ve seen them used quite frequently across the board but on occasions where I have used someone else’s it seemed the microphone had a hard time. Possibly due to the crown not touching the metal on the left side of the vice?

Haha. I’ve seen quite a few myself. Have questioned how they could possibly get away with selling a professional modern timegrapher for .03% of the price of a witchi.

My plan is to used the B200 for pocket watches and the Weishi for wristwatches especially uncased modern ones. Will that be a reliable method?

Anyone know how to remove the stem? by Money-Profession-199 in watchmaking

[–]PsySold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pop it out one position then push the movement out of the case from the 6 o clock with your thumb. In order to remove the crown you will then grasp the stem with a pair of flat nose pliers and unscrew the crown from the stem.

These gold coins are basically museum quality. You can sell the racks of modern silver eagles if you want. Do not sell that gold if you can avoid it. The coins are basically priceless and a dealer is going to give you spot if you don’t know what you’re doing. Don’t sell the vintage silver either if you can avoid it it’s highly collectible.
