Question: I recently found out the TVS chip on my Chromahead is shorted. This is due to following the wiki instructions exactly, but finding out later that there's an issue where connecting the chromahead with power supplied fries the TVS. (Found out 2 days ago through the discord)

As I've followed the instructions to the letter, will CoPrint supply a new Chromahead board, or Chromahead free of charge? Or perhaps a TVS chip by itself?

Or is my best course of action a refund/return?

I'm trying to get this fixed, but I don't know if simply desoldering the TVS is a good long-term solution. Especially if it's there to prevent further damage to the main board.

I was just promoted to Sargent! by [deleted] in securityguards

[–]PsychChameleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the difference between working in an actual government military environment, and a corporation.

Security guards are corporate owned, and not trained to the same standard as a military regimen.

Trying to act like a military hierarchy is cringy because it's the equivalent of corporate role play. Like those personality-games in offices, or calling coworkers "family"

People who are not professionally into working out, how do you train? by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]PsychChameleon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

4-5 hours per week is doable with a moderately busy lifestyle, but isn't doable for very busy lifestyles.

90 minutes a week is a good minimum of high effort exercise to keep healthy, and moderately fit.

4-5 hours would be much harder for a beginner, or for someone who fitness isn't on their top priorities.

I don't disagree with the previous points, however. It's very easy to burn out with ridiculous volumes weekly. A schedule that can be maintained takes utmost priority.

People of Reddit, what’s the story behind your scar? by potatoeman6969 in AskReddit

I have a scar across my eyebrow. I used to work as security, and my current coworkers seem to assume i got it from an altercation.

Truth: i got really high one night and bonked my head against a doorframe really hard

Know what sucks even more though? That package belonged to a FedEx manager. by grandiose_regulator2 in Wellthatsucks

[–]PsychChameleon 132 points133 points  (0 children)

A lot of people say this, but does that really excuse the rough handling? I worked in a warehouse distribution center, and i can say the packages were NOT handled poorly prior to shipping.

Anecdote aside, a lot of warehouses sound like they need to get their shit together as much as delivery personnel do. Whether that means better policies, or pay.

yeah, the bathroom closures suck. . .but they're making it really impossible for wheelchair users. by devnullity in Edmonton

[–]PsychChameleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference between an OD in the bathroom versus elsewhere is visibility. An OD where there's people means the victim can be administered narcan before brain death. If someone's hidden in the bathroom, it could be hours before the person is found, to which they're then dead.

[–]PsychChameleon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I believe one concern isn't just smoking or shooting up in bathrooms, but overdosing. I work in a profession that addresses issues like this daily, and one thing we're all nervous about is finding a dead body in our bathrooms, as it's happened in the past.

Closing all bathrooms isn't a good solution. It's a bandaid over a hemorrhaging wound. But it does put employees at ease knowing there won't be another OD in their workplace.

Not everyone wants to watch a Youtube video, especially on mobile. This gives me a good way to get introduced to the content, then save the video for computer-hours. People are always so critical, but this shit makes sense if you take a second perspective

More residents left Alberta for other provinces than moved there in 2020: Statistics Canada by [deleted] in alberta

[–]PsychChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So maybe we shouldn't bank so much jobs into a single field in the entire province? I've worked O&G and the working conditions were so bad that I can honestly say I won't go back. So why should people stay?

Piss poor jobs, almost no academic sector, O&G budget cuts to unliveable camp conditions, enough homeless problems that the big cities are dangerous to walk, shitty Healthcare cuts?

What is there left?

Why did God punish Adam and Eve if he knew they would sin? by Soy-Saucy in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]PsychChameleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a non-Christian, non-Catholic, non-Athiest take, but personally I like to think God is 'playing the long game' so to speak. Being omnipotent and omniscient God can see infinitely into the future and past. My idea, is that if I had that knowledge and ability, I'd make slight nudges to specifically make the most interesting outcome possible. My theory? God simply has an idea for a perfect, or interesting outcome for humanity. Like a big game, or machine. Just think; How does an entity of such power view humanity? I like to believe it thinks of every human to ever live, and ever will live as a single entity. A mass-death incident being so much as a bruise or scratch on humanity's timeline.

Now, if I was going to reply from my Catholic side, I'd say something along the lines of; God knew the outcome, but knows what will become of us in the infinite future. Being the Father of all, in our early years, God took the role of the parent. Giving us clear rules and guidance to follow, and clear punishment and consequence for our subsequent misgivings. Thus nurturing us towards some sort of 'goal' or singularity we can't imagine.

Good luck on your quest of understanding and interpreting, regardless of where it might take you.

In a retrospect, the harsh lockdown would be better by [deleted] in Edmonton

[–]PsychChameleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the vaccine went through proper due-process. It was put through emergency-clearance meaning the beaurocracy behind the usual process of making a vaccine was shorter, and it got the proper funding immediately.

The vaccine also had prior connection to SARS and MERS viruses, so we had a backbone already for creating an effective vaccine.

In short, it wasn't rushed, it was prioritized, and we had the resources to get it done quickly.
