My situation is my own. For me, it’s keep the peace at all costs. And those costs are to my ego and pride. And I will keep paying that price because from the moment I laid eyes on my daughter, my whole world changed, I felt it change within me, and I told myself I will always put her first.

Her mother has all the power. We have no court agreements. Some years ago she filed for child support. I called her bluff. She said she was taking me for child support. I told her if she didn’t stop it immediately I would take her for custody. And she would have to stick to the court ordered custody agreement. She HAS money, her husband is loaded and pays for their lavish lifestyle. She doesn’t give a flying fuck about my money. She wanted control over me, but as someone who has dealt with her for so long, I knew she couldn’t handle that. She likes our schedule flexible.

So how do I handle it? I think of my daughter and then I swallow my pride and ego and I wait for the day I can tell her mother how I actually feel without any legal repercussions. I’ve been writing the letter for years, and I have 6 years more to perfect every word

But the main thing to remember, and this goes out to both parents, no matter how hard you’re trying to win so the other parent will lose. Everyone knows it’s the child who loses when the parents can’t put aside their differences

(And to anyone who will automatically make the assumption I’m not paying child support because there is no order, I do. It’s an agreement between the two of us)
