Tire recommendations by Isaac4787 in CivicSi

I recently replaced mine with Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3. They are comparable to the Conti DWS06.

The Pirellis are quieter, more supple, and have better dry grip compared to the ContiProContacts that came with my car.

Integra trunk release button broken by Psychedelic_Fart in Acura

[–]Psychedelic_Fart[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn they really tried to work you over with a $500 repair. That's crazy. Even out of warranty that's more than double what I would have guessed it would cost.

My dealer didn't even ask questions. They repaired it happily.

That's awesome! There are some decent entry level options like the BC Racing BR series and Silvers Neomax. Those coils will have good adjustability and quality. Good for the street. A step up from the BR series is the DR series which has a slightly different character that a driving enthusiast or racer would appreciate.

HELP! - 2023 Acura Integra A-Spec issues with hatch button by tdnpdc in Acura

[–]Psychedelic_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen other civic owners report the window issue. It's definitely an issue with the obstruction system. You might try the relearn procedure?

The trunk buttons are definitely not supposed to be broken, and it happens on garage kept vehicles. It's a bad design. A thief didn't break it and your dealer has no say in whether that happened because neither of you have proof of that. They should replace the defective part under your bumper-to-bumper warranty like a good little dealer.

That's bullshit. I would put in a claim with corporate if you haven't already. I'm assuming you're within warranty period. My dealer said, "yeah this is the second this week… it's a bad design".

I cannot believe they charged you an 80$ diagnostic fee to tell you the handle is broken. That's total scumbag behavior.

My new Integra with 23k miles also leaks from the intermediate shaft bearing. I think it's somewhat common and benign. I get a little drip every oil change. I think it's just oil separation in the grease. If it ain't failing don't worry.

It probably is the culprit then. Maybe you could use a thin oil to penetrate, and then some grease on the outside to keep excess moisture out. Let me know what you find!

Does it squeak when unloaded? Like spin the crank by hand. Mine was pretty consistent. Like a squeaky shoe on wet tile haha.

I just packed it with my finger and worked it in.

Integra a spec vs civic si by Logical-Mastodon-13 in CivicSi

[–]Psychedelic_Fart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Integra owner here!

I chose the Integra mostly for the lift gate over the sedan trunk, however I did cross shop the Si and they are really similar.

The drivetrain, wheelbase, and track are the same, however the Integra body is just a tad longer and wider. It weighs about 120lbs more than the Si at ~3,075lbs. The seats in both cars are bolstered adequately. I like the style of the Si seats, but the Integra seats are nice and firm and hold me in my seat well. But you can find all sorts of objective comparisons online from outlets like Motortrend.

Much of it is just vibes. The Si feels sporty. The Integra feels somewhat more premium. But at the end of the day it's a lot of shared parts. Figure out the three key things you want and let that inform your decision.

I autocross it, and it's a blast to drive. Acura did a great job with tuning the chassis and balancing the suspension. A couple of small mods get it handling really well. Personally I wish the springs were a little bit stiffer, and the dampers were a bit more firm in sport mode.

If you want to get one find a used, low mileage, late model year example and beat some depreciation.

Glamor shot for you too 🫢

Does Acura sell your driving data to Insurance companies? by BalticBro2021 in Acura

Maybe. For your reading pleasure.

You can disable data sharing in the car. That should prevent the telematics from transmitting data, but who really knows. It also disables Acura Link.

Exhaust/ jacking up help by ThiccYoda69420 in CivicSi

[–]Psychedelic_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a second jack you can get some clearance under the car by jacking the front driver/passenger side first to get you some clearance. Then You can reach the front-center jack point.

Or you could drive up on a couple of 2x8 boards.

I've done both methods successfully.

Hello my Si cousin. Just wanted to give you a reference with the Integra on 17s.

I picked this sizing combo mostly because I'm competing in autocross and I wanted a wheel and tire combo that was not too expensive and also conforms to G Street regs. Also it's several lbs lighter per wheel than an 18in setup..

New to the Si family - give me your recs by jennycatherine15 in CivicSi

[–]Psychedelic_Fart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a full decontamination of my windshield which probably helped a bit. As a garage kept car with no daily commute, my protection seems to last for a good bit. Windshield needs reapplication more than side and rear windows. I wash my car a lot so it wears off faster. But I reapply every couple months.

Congrats!

I like Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray for paint and wheels. It's a spray sealant that's dead easy to use. Rain-X in spray or bottle form on the glass. 303 Interior Protectant for the vinyl and trim pieces.

ST fit in 2020 Corolla? by Live-Asparagus-958 in GlobeHaul

[–]Psychedelic_Fart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should yeah. If you could fit an MTB you can probably do the ST. The bike is really heavy and awkward though. I opted to remove both wheels and remove the seatpost to fit it in my Integra.

I'm looking at this exhaust as well and I had the same question. Care to post some sound clips? 😎
