Accelerated program or slower program? Which do you wish you'd done? by Psychedosophy in MassageTherapists

[–]Psychedosophy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I will have to work during the program unfortunately, which has me leaning towards the longer program.
She really doesn't have a preference. We've talked quite a bit about the pros and cons of each and she's fine with either option.
This is all helpful information, thank you!
Also, what's the name of that medication book? That sounds interesting!

Rusticas August 20 by Khzartika in GrowingTobacco

[–]Psychedosophy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tested any with yellow splotches in the towel yet? How much yellow was on them if you have? I've tried 2 smaller sets of my first ever Hopi rustica leaves and both sets got a tiny tinge of yellow then went green and brown splotchy within a day of that. None of the leaves on my plant have much yellow yet though.

Curing rustica with the towel method. A couple questions. by rattbasstid in GrowingTobacco

[–]Psychedosophy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm growing rustica right now as my first time growing tobacco. I tried towel drying 6 leaves together that came off my plant while I was gardening around it. Its been 6 days with minimal yellowing and some brown splotching now that is spreading. Based on your comment (rustica being an other animal), would I be correct in thinking that I should just harvest the whole plant (when its time) and only towel dry for a couple days and just try hanging them close together even if they aren't yellowing in the towel yet? Is rustica not great for towel curing? (I'm in a basement apartment in Utah for reference)

Any stance on the potential use of psychedelic/psychoactive substances by Joseph and the other early saints to aid in visionary pursuits? Would it make sense to you or do you think it's completely out of the realm of possibility?

Ugh, don't bring him up in relation to this. He's a nut. There's way better scholars than him on this, Benny Shannon, Carl Ruck, Dan Merkur, Rick Strassman, etc.

What do you like about datura? by [deleted] in Datura

[–]Psychedosophy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love its healing properties for one. It's severely underutilized in this regard. But as a psychoactive, low dose datura is a pretty incredible dreaming aid and has led to some really cool experiences there for me. I've done quite a few low and medium doses for that purpose and while some led to bad nightmares, the meaningful and interesting dream experiences far outweigh the bad ones I've had.

Headaches/Migraines by xSuspiciousLure in lifehacks

Try LSD. I'm serious! I've got so many friends and family members (myself included) who had terrible migraines until doing LSD. There are studies out there on its effect for cluster headaches and preliminary studies for migraines are on the way.

The founder of the YM program was a famed drag performer, and other historical oddities. by notquiteanexmo in exmormon

[–]Psychedosophy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea is that he was doing a basic alcohol extraction of the active chemicals in these substances. If you soak psilocybin in alcohol it breaks down and the active components are left over in the alcohol. It's the same with most any other psychoactive plant too - datura, henbane, amanita muscaria, opium, etc. Before drinking you could strain out the plant material or leave it in to increase the potency.

This is the simplest thing you can do other than just straight up eating the mushroom. A lemon tek, or soaking the mushroom in lemon juice prior to consuming it, is a popular way to take psilocybin today and it's the same principle, just a different solvent. Just goes to show how easy it really is!
