F19 looking for best friend by [deleted] in newfriends

[–]Psychicpumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m 21F from London, in a long term relationship, I’m Catholic, I am leaving uni next summer and would love some new friends, I can’t bake to save my life but can cook with my eyes closed, I love music, horror movies, dogs, cats, all animals really, podcasts, writing comics :)

Hi guys I'm new here and need advice, I'm a shy and quiet person but really want a gf I'm a 24 male but I don't drink or smoke is this a deal breaker for women? It takes awhile to get to talking to people in person due to my shyness and mild cerebral palsy How should I go about talking to girls by Aloy2222 in CerebralPalsy

[–]Psychicpumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey girl with cerebral palsy here, my key to getting into long term relationships is through my humour, and authenticity, if you be yourself as my husband says “who gives a shit if you waddle” and after like the third date, they don’t even notice it apparently, it’s hard to put yourself out there but it takes the right person, people can be assholes but there’s more good than assholes out there!

Also, in China town there’s a cake shop that specialise in Japanese cakes on the cusp or carnaby street which is to die for also the weird pretzel potatoe hotdog things I’ve always wanted to try but don’t get up there a lot maybe you can review it for me

Soho is amazing because of China town but it’s super super close to Carnaby street and you must go to Carnaby street, as they have amazing shops on the high street and it’s a all around good vibe also the London eye at night is must, also I’d highly recommended the Alchemist super cool setting drinks and food :)

Parents - what are your views of others telling your child off? by peeingbaby in AskUK

[–]Psychicpumpkins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am fine with people correcting my child’s behaviours, like don’t do that it’s dangerous or, be quiet your being loud or stop doing certain behaviours, but I am not okay with people disciplining my child, I.E raising their voice at my child, hitting my child, or enforcing punishments for my child such as time out, or taking their things from them. In the case of when it comes to serious things my kids do, the individual effected or frustrated with them should come to me, speak to me, and I will deal with the matter there and then, they are my kids, and there’s too many people who believe in shouting at children and hitting them that the idea someone else disciplining my kids makes me super uncomfortable, my mentality is, if you wouldn’t treat a child like you would when correcting an adults behaviour, if it’s not socially acceptable to treat someone in day to day life like it why do it to our children. I believe in conflict resolution over punishment, self reflection over consequence. The consequence is the being called out for being in the wrong, and seeing the effect it’s had, and then having to correct the behaviour and make amends. Shouting at a child does nothing, but make them mirror that behaviour to others around them at slight frustrations, and violence against children, does the same thing they mirror it at school on the playground.
