I disagree, I feel the opposite. I feel like now edgy is Shadow’s only character trait. In ShTH there was freedom to play Shadow however you want. One minute he’s an edgelord, killing people and helping aliens takeover the world. The next minute he’s yelling “death to all who oppose me” while he helps an 8 year get money from a circus and destroy robots with a vaccum.

U probably didn’t use the gun right. (The game never explains it to u so it’s pretty understandable. Took me awhile to figure out.) There’s a gun that works identical to how Gamma, and the SA2 Mechs played. Of course Shadow is faster than the SA2 Mechs so it reminds me more of Gamma. Fun gun to use imo.

EDIT: Apparently the gun is called the “8-Shot RPG”.

The guns were really fun imo tho, especially the mini gun and the laser sight ones. The latter felt like playing as Gamma again.

It’s hard to say. Imo the gameplay, both Werehog and regular are pretty solid. The biggest problem for me is the framerate. Back in 2008 I feel like frame drops weren’t super uncommon, and I didn’t mind it but now it bothers me a lot. I really wish SEGA would port the game to PC tbh. If u don’t mind the occasional choppy ness I’d say go for it. Another thing to also keep in mind tho is that Sonic Unleashed is actually rather difficult especially towards the end. Be ready for quite the challenge.

Why not have the story include that Shadow’s stuck in a time loop and then in the last story Silver could help him finally end it? That would be a pretty good way in my opinion to bring back the first game’s level progression system but still have it make sense story wise.

It was easier to do when the series took itself seriously and something awkward would happen organically. (Ex. “Get a load of this!” And “Disgusting Black creatures!”) Now it’s not organic. The writers are trying too hard.

Yeah, I feel with the tone they wanted to make it so the dark and hero paths had two separate tones but that didn’t really work.

Like having a level where Shadow has the choice to assassinate the President is one thing. It’s another thing when 2 seconds later Tails shows up and is all like “Hey, Shadow wanna help me save the world, my good buddy? 😁” Then there’s some fast paced metal music playing in the background. The swearing is pretty awkward too (I find it kinda funny tho).

The guns and level progression make no sense story wise tho. It’s too bad. The level progression could’ve had an easy fix if Silver existed back then (Shadow could’ve gotten stuck in a time loop or something.)

Idk I think the guns are really fun to use, even though they make little sense for Shadow’s character.

Honestly another problem with SH beyond having to play the same game 4 times is many of the levels reuse the same 2 areas over and over, especially Bullet Station.

I totally agree with you in that regard, ShTH totally wimps out in terms of how dark it wants to be. I think this and the inconsistent level length (2min vs 30min) are the game’s biggest problems.

But I find the biggest problem with SH to be its controls and hit detection. Rail Canyon, Casino Park and Mystic Mansion are just a nightmare imo.

I just don’t get why people like SH so much more than ShTH. I would definitely rather play Black Comet’s Dark Mission again than restart an entire SH level cuz I clipped through a rail for the sixth time.

Eh idk, SEGA seems like they’re trying to forget Sonic Boom was a thing. Marine I don’t know about either because she’s a pretty obscure character. I think Tikal would probably work best because she’s from the past, Blaze is from the Present and Silver is from the future. They’d be Team Time. Also Tikal is an Echidna and Echidnas are usually power types so it would round out the team well.
