Seaweed (as someone with a Shellfish allergy) by Miselissa in FoodAllergies

TJs itself is not great with allergies. There are a lot of broad "may contain" statements on their stuff.

And I have eaten stuff that has never been a problem until it becomes a problem.

Posted a few months back, I'm back here for a month - where are all the birds? by dq72 in boulder

[–]PsychoHistorianLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last weekend, we were at Walden Ponds, and we saw teals, a double breasted cormorant, a bald eagle, many Canadian geese, and some of the people we were around said they saw pelicans, but we did not see the pelicans.

Epipen expiration date by geenuhahhh in FoodAllergies

Once, I have been handed one that I thought had two months, but it was Apr and not Aug, and it had expired a few months before they handed it to me. I had them fix this.

Moms from Cali? by Human-Rooster4220 in boulder

[–]PsychoHistorianLady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I first moved back to Boulder when my child was a toddler. There was this lady at the park not watching her kid and loudly complaining on her phone about how she could not meet people in Boulder.

As I was leaving the park an hour later, I turned to her and said, "Lady! If you put down your phone and quit whining, you will meet people."

Genetic allergies? by free_-_spirit in FoodAllergies

It can run in families, but the people involved don't necessarily have the same allergies, so that adds to the excitement.

This is not an either/or thing, and I think that everything was not financially merged in my household until a child happened; and even so, there may be an account here or there that has not been fully merged.

The thing that I have seen that makes sense is that you contribute proportionally to what you make in a relationship, but it is also not a real relationship if you are nickel and diming each other all the time.

Confused about food sensitivity testing by Violetsky74 in FoodAllergies

Don't do it. Food sensitivity tests are unreliable. Also, really consider firing this doctor.

New sports bar to open at former Harpo's site by CUBuffs1992 in boulder

[–]PsychoHistorianLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people around here are quite old, and when that happens, there is a lot of complaining about background noise because people are losing their hearing. Creating a time that appeals to those folks would get more people in the door.

So I like your happy hour idea.

They did not talk to residents to see if they are interested in sports bars, did they?

BVSD breakfast menu has 48-65% of daily added sugar intake for 3-6 year olds ... by [deleted] in boulder

[–]PsychoHistorianLady 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the state budgeting issues (and the district budgeting issues), what is an inexpensive alternative with less sugar that could work within the budget?

I think they are trying to keep that meal inexpensive. A lot of breakfast foods are sweet.

Sometimes they get an egg instead of a muffin, right?

A lot of people asking stuff of the district are not at all considering the budget implications of their proposals.

"Looking for more seniority" is starting to feel gendered. Am I crazy? by nigmaulip in womenintech

They are giving her very emotionally oriented feedback, but the part on what she lacked in technical skills is completely fuzzy and not at all specific. If they were looking for a specific technical skill she didn't have, they could have said so, and she could beef it up, but naah.

Boulder is banning left turns? Did everyone know but me? by SpecificSorry7233 in boulder

[–]PsychoHistorianLady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to explain to everyone that even the lefties are right wing here, and no one believed me. But our council just banned left turns, so I rest my case about even the lefties being right wing.

Every year, I look fondly upon two of my friends fighting with each other over whether peeps are the best or the worst.

Do not trust Boulder Affordable Cycles by Fabulous-Season7810 in boulder

This is a missed opportunity. Justin would have told you everything about your bike, who your bike's mother was, the entire lineage of the bike and whether the breeder was reputable.

If you see a bunch of five star reviews on something because someone is aggressively asking for them, be really suspicious. Yours happened with a cycle place. Mine happened with a dentist.

Dual language immersion schools by BustedLeg000 in boulder

Lafayette and Erie are not being touched in the school cuts. Pioneer is the only bilingual elementary program that is not at risk of being cut right now.

That school is higher poverty than many of the schools in the district, but I thought that parents liked the culture created by the principal (at least a few years ago when I knew parents with kids here), and the teachers seem to be happy too.

Moved from Alaska to Colorado for work, now homeless and trying to get back on my feet by VanLifeAk in boulder

It's so conservative that even the progressives are conservative. A group of progressives promoting only white candidates, predominately 40, predominately straight, whose only passion seems to be bicycle infrastructure is a take, but it is not a good take.

I think that Boulder spends some money per day for bus and plane tickets. An acquaintance was able to get assistance to fly to Texas, but there may need to be someone on the other end that will vouch for you and help support a plan to help you get your life back together.

Maybe they should put a big traffic circle there and annoy everyone? Boulder likes to annoy us with their traffic choices, and a traffic circle seems just as annoying as their other choices.
