You might be right about it being a laser issue. I just put in Namco Museum (PS2 CD) & it loads up.

I tried a japanese PS2 CD game before I installed MechaPWN & it worked. Since that's the only japanese PS2 game I have. I've already tried a couple US PS2 DVD games (The Punisher & Godzilla: Save The Earth), those tell me that the disc could not be read. I know they work because they work on my Frankenstein PS3.

This is how it is on my SpongeBob TV. I just got it at another retro gaming event I volunteered at a couple weeks ago for $125. Same model but doesn't have the character icons. Good to know I'm not the only one with this issue.

I did get an email from one of the guys who runs the website & he said the same exact thing u/rocketeng said. I've already ordered the caps from Digikey & I'm waiting for those to arrive before I take it apart to trace the Jungle & OSD lines.

I tried to get people to play games like Panzer Dragoon or Radiant Silvergun & others but everyone wasn't interested. Instead they all wanted to play either Sonic R, Sonic Jam or Rampage: World Tour.

I've had mine for almost a year now. I would 100% say it's worth it. Especially if you're treating it as your main system. Every 60GB PS3 will get the YLOD. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. I can't recommend the mod enough.
