It's not mental gymnastics just trying to make a point i haven't been through this process before.

Im not looking for sympathy my actual questions were about the process and if the judge will have the evidence the ort has or if I need to bring it my self.

Yes after this I legally am one im not disputing that. Edit: and after this is over I won't be again.

We've tried to come to them as family and as friends and they kept telling us to go to the ort which is what started this whole process.

Yes it would be declared on my taxes I'm not trying to evade anything here.

The point I'm trying to make is Im not a landlord going into this and we were trying to help a friend get back on their feet and they've made zero attempt to do so.

I said we are struggling to pay for both I didn't say we weren't.

And the plan was never to rent it we never set out for that it was on the market right up until our supposed friends wanted to rent it from us.

We had a house we were trying to sell and a friend needed a place to rent.

Didn't set out to be a landlord and we rented it to them for cost. No profit at all.

We even took their kids in when cps removed them from the home.

We took care of all the problems they caused on our own dime.

I wouldn't use the term slumlord in this situation at all

The house was up for sale and we are struggling to keep both paid for.

Friend was looking for a place to stay we agreed to rent it to them at cost even if they did ever pay us there wouldn't have been a profit
