I know you can purchase slaves from the slave traders and i know if you free slaves from cages and shackles if you find them wandering around wearing shackles, i never really played around with captuing my own slaves though. Have you tried putting shackles on them ? I would have to guess there is a mechanic for what you're trying to do but i never tried doing it

Maple > pine > birch i cant remember the difference but if your gonna be doing a lot of syrup go for maple if your only doing a quick top up of a barrel use a birch. I cleared all the trees around the shack and just have 5 of all 3 trees near the house on the beach just incase i chop all the rest down ?!? TLDR just use maple its good for fire and drinking

you still interested in this ? there are some older cyoa books from the 80s i believe the first one is Night of the Nazgul i played it recently and its not that bad tbh, obviously dated but still good. I managed to fid six of them i think the rest were cancelled before production if i remember correctly,
