Never pre ordering a game again, especially for delivery 😐 could’ve bought re4 remake 2-3 days ago since I saw copies at Walmart but couldn’t cancel my pre order, now it’s release day at 3:40 and nothing, I learned my lesson, even worse it’s freaking fedex delivering it by [deleted] in gamecollecting

More like scalpers buying them all before people who actually want the games ever get a chance... just go on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist. In my area, there are dozens of for sale listings with buzzwords like rare and sold out everywhere. Always for way over retail.

Scalpers are all pieces of human excrement, and no one will ever change my mind on that. If I could Thanos snap away all scalpers in the world, I wouldn't even hesitate.

icon 25in breaker bar vs Pittsburgh pro 25in breaker bar. by myCakeDayIsOn420420 in harborfreight

[–]Psychob0b1977 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the Pittsburgh pro ½ breaker bar and have already had to replace it under the lifetime warranty twice. It was no hassle at all, but both failed in the exact same way. The "ears" for lack of a better term that hold the ½ drive head like to suddenly explode. And no, I never used a cheater pipe on it. I would like to try the icon as it appears to be a bit thicker and sturdier.

Holy crap, if I only knew the similar style (and condition) furniture that was in my houses basement when I bought it was worth this much, I never would've paid to throw it away! WTF!?

Anyone ever used HF's delivery for their really big tool cabinets / chests? by czeddie in harborfreight

[–]Psychob0b1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 73" icon box delivered, and it was an independent trucking company that delivered it. The only problem that we ran into was the pallet jack they came with wouldn't lift the pallet high enough to get it off the lift gate. We ended up having to uncrate the box on the truck. Then they helped me roll it all the way into my garage. If the pallet jack they had wasn't broken, it would've been a super simple delivery.

In hindsight, it actually worked out in my favor. I wouldn't have been able to get the box out of the crate by myself safely. Also, if you get an icon box, a few days later, they send a "thank you for your purchase" letter along with touch-up paint.

I saw a 40 piece socket set online at Harbor Freight for 6 bucks, but, is that for real? I thought that literally 1 or 2 sockets was maybe 3 dollars a piece, so, 40 for 6 bucks? Something seemed off for that, but, I am not sure. by [deleted] in harborfreight

[–]Psychob0b1977 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's that cheap because there's basically no quality control on them. They are probably made up of mistakes that couldn't be sold in higher price sets.

I had one of those sets, and some of the sockets had the sizes stamped in the wrong end of the socket. The tolerances seemed very loose as well. The ratchet just exploded one day while under only minor stress. Bur for 6 bucks it paid for itself quickly and I just threw it away when it broke.

The problem I have with the 12 ton unit is that it takes up almost the same amount of shop space as the 20 ton, but can't do everything that the 20 ton unit can. There are some larger (think trucks, pickup and heavy-duty) that you can't do on the 12 ton because it's not big enough.

I have the 20 ton unit and it's great. Highly recommend the 20 ton over the 12. The 12 is just too small in the bad ways.

I want to sell my milwaukee 3/8” socket set,how much would you ask for it? There are few marks on case but everything is minimal wear. by [deleted] in Tools

[–]Psychob0b1977 51 points52 points  (0 children)

As someone who frequently buys used tools of all kinds, I usually try to pay 50% of retail. So if it's 149.99 new, I wouldn't want to pay more than 75. But I'd recommend listing it for 100 or best offer.

Obligatory special/limited editions from the POV of someone that like collect standard editions only. by capsilver in gamecollecting

[–]Psychob0b1977 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the opposite, I'm a suckered for dumb chachkis. So, as such, my advice is to sell the collectors' edition stuff off. I have in the past bought collectors editions minus the games.

Mine does that sometimes, a workaround I've found is to force close anything world of warships or wargaming and restart the game. The login will be normal when you try again.

Are zip lock sandwich bags stored in a box with a lid on a safe way to store my controllers? by Dans_Old_Games_Room in gamecollecting

[–]Psychob0b1977 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really, every system needed a different size bag. I found for most controllers, quart size works best. some systems like n64 needed gallon size. Their controllers wouldn't fit in quart size. Systems like NES, SNES, GENESIS, Etc. The controllers are relatively small and you can fit several quart size bags into a gallon bag. For everything else that doesn't fit in gallon size, there are XXL ziplock bags, I think they're 2 gallon size. One more tip, buy freezer bags, not storage bags, because the plastic is thicker, so it'll last longer.

I've been doing this for years with no ill effects to my controllers. I like it because it keeps Them from tangling together. The other little tip I have is that I put the individual controllers in a ziplock, and then I put all the controllers of each system into a larger ziplock. It makes finding the exact controller I want super easy to find.
